Get Fit At The Las Vegas Athletic Club

Just in case you aren’t sweating enough in the desert of Las Vegas, head on over to the Las Vegas Athletic Club. LVAC has 5 locations throughout the Las Vegas Valley - including a club in Green Valley located in Henderson. They’re expanding as well with two more clubs currently being built.

I’ve never been much of a workout facility user. I’ve always preferred to remain active on my own to keep in shape. But a combination of getting older as well as the scorching Vegas summer forced me to begin to look for other options. I eventually settled on the LVAC because of the friendly staff and all of the options that were available to me that allow me to customize my membership.

The club on Rainbow drive in North Las Vegas is one of the largest workout facilities in the country. It’s massive. What I really like about it is it’s open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. I love the fact that I can go at anytime and be able to hop on a treadmill or bike and get my sweat on. They have multiple cardio areas - the main one is gigantic with at least a hundred treadmills and bikes all located in front of a wall covered in television screens. As if that isn’t enough, over half of the bikes and treadmills have their own mini-television connected right to the machine.A lot of the time my wife and I like to go workout together. With a toddler, that might be difficult to coordinate. But at the Las Vegas Athletic Club, your membership includes access to their giant playroom. In the playroom the kids can run around and play on the many toys and activity centers and are well supervised by the helpful staff. And while your riding your bike or walking on the treadmill you can tune the television to a closed circuit channel of the playroom and watch your little one running around himself.

Along with the playroom you can add towel service to your account or sign up to be able to bring guests with guest passes. You have a lot of options with your membership.

Besides the fabulous cardio room - the LVAC has separate sections of free weights with a hundred different machines so you never have to wait to get on the one you want. Along with the free weights are numerous other weight machines that focus on different parts of your body like your legs, chest, back, shoulders, and arms.

There are also a few classrooms where free classes run all day. Options include yoga, pilates, stretching, kickboxing, and aqua aerobics (in the giant pool). They even have dance classes available if you want to work out and have some type of fun while doing it. I mentioned the water aerobics available in the pool. Along with the pool you can swim laps in the separate lap pool or just relax in the sauna.

Women have the option of working in their own workout area which includes everything that’s available throughout the whole club. It’s like a club within a club for the women.

After your workout, you can shower and on your way out make sure you stop at the juice bar which is open 24 hours as well and has all sorts of fruit and juice combinations where you can add supplements like protein or wheat grass.

Overall - for my $30 dollars a month I have access to an awesome facility that gives me every option imaginable for my workouts. Whether it’s running laps on the track, relaxing in the sauna, or lifting weights there’s always something for me to do to build up a sweat.
