24-Hour Donation Center to Accommodate End of Year Giving Rush

Sahara Location Open Overnight on Thursday, December 27

In a 24-hour city like Las Vegas, it only makes sense to have a 24-hour Goodwill Donation Center that makes it easy to donate and receive a tax-deductible receipt before 2012 officially comes to a close.

Goodwill of Southern Nevada will keep its Drive-Thru Donation Center at the Sahara Goodwill Store (4580 W. Sahara, at Decatur) open all-day and all-night starting on Thursday, December 27 at 7am thru Friday, December 28 at 9pm.

That’s a full 38-hours of non-stop donating to help accommodate even the most hectic of schedules. Donating is especially convenient at the Drive-Thru Donation Center, as donors wishing to drop off gently-used items don’t even have to get out of their cars.

As a special thank you, everyone who donates at the Sahara location during the extended hours will receive a $5 off coupon to shop at the Sahara Goodwill store.

The last week in December is historically Goodwill of Southern Nevada’s busiest week of the year, with more than 20,000 people expected to drop off gently used goods at Goodwill donation centers by December 31, 2012.

Goodwill of Southern Nevada offers more than forty donation sites across the Las Vegas Valley. Each Goodwill donation location is staffed by a donation ambassador who can provide receipts to donors and also validate itemized lists, when presented. For general donation guidelines, please visit www.irs.gov.

The sales of donated gently used goods in Goodwill retail stores and on-line support Goodwill’s mission of providing job training, education and job placement services to people in Southern Nevada.

Thanks to the community’s support, Goodwill of Southern Nevada has helped place more than 1,750 people into jobs so far in 2012.
