$1 MILLION “SECRET SANTA” DONATION
United Way of Southern Nevada Delivers Holiday Cheer
to 2,000 Local Families
United Way of Southern Nevada’s Clara Westfall surprises
one of the 2,000 “Secret Santa” gift recipients.
United Way of Southern Nevada is spreading holiday cheer to 2,000 Las Vegas families in need, after receiving a $1 million donation from a local “Secret Santa.” This marks the third time an “anonymous donor” has chosen United Way of Southern Nevada as the recipient of funds now totaling $3 million, based on its dedicated partnerships and awareness of the community’s critical needs that focus on education, health and financial stability. The “Secret Santa” donor requested the monies be used to provide some needed holiday relief to our Las Vegas citizens including necessity items such as food, diapers and shoes, as well as gifts, such as a bike, or toy, that will bring joy to a child.
“United Way of Southern Nevada’s goal is to create a better and brighter southern Nevada and we are sincerely grateful for this heartfelt gift that will bring many smiles to children’s faces,” said Cass Palmer, President and CEO of United Way of Southern Nevada. “The generous donation by our Secret Santa highlights his true spirit of giving and a shared commitment to provide needed resources that can truly make an improved difference to families living in our community.”
Whether individuals donate one dollar or a million dollars, United Way believes that volunteers, advocates and donors form the collective power that can make lasting change in southern Nevada. The organization invites the public to become “The Face of Change” this holiday season by making a donation through their Facebook page facebook.com/UnitedWaySN. Individuals who donate will receive a special thank you by having their photo appear on Las Vegas area digital billboards.
UWSN gratefully acknowledges Wells Fargo who waived all processing fees and expedited delivery of the gift cards so that they may be given to families in advance of the holidays.
