PRCA Convention Events – Dec. 1 & 3
To kick start “Vegas Cowboy Central” festivities, South Point Hotel will host the 6th Annual Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) Hall of Fame Gold Buckle Gala in the Grand Ballroom on Monday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. In addition, all PRCA members and NFR competitors will be honored at the PRCA Awards Banquet in the Grand Ballroom Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. Tickets are available www.vegascowboycentral.com or call (719) 528-4714.

Montana Silversmiths Go-Round Buckle Awards – Dec. 4 – 12
South Point Showroom will host the Montana Silversmiths Go-Round Buckle Awards for the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) every night following the day’s competitions from Dec. 4 – 12 at 11 p.m. The winners of each of the NFR competitions will be presented with a prized buckle, a symbol of each competitor’s triumph against the bucking bulls. This event is free and open to the public.

 

National Finals Rodeo Live Broadcasts – Dec. 4 – 13
Every night, the South Point Showroom and Grandview Lounge will host live broadcasts during NFR Dec. 4 – 13 at 6:30 p.m. Doors to the viewing parties will open at 5:30 p.m., offering guests a front row seat to the action. All guests must be 21 or older with a valid form of ID. The broadcasts are free and open to the public.

 

RAM Rodeo Tailgate Viewing Party – Dec. 4 – 13
Throughout the NFR, South Point will host the official RAM Rodeo Tailgate Party in the Grand Ballroom Dec. 4 – 13 at 6 p.m. Guests will display the “true spirit” of the rodeo and watch the live feed of each National Finals Rodeo competition while enjoying a few light snacks and refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.

South Point Western Gift Show – Dec. 4 – 14
South Point Arena and Equestrian Center will host a Western Gift Show Dec. 4 – 14. With more than 100 vendors, guests have the opportunity to “Cowboy Up” and purchase all items related to the Western lifestyle. Gifts include shirts, jeans, cowboy hats, boots, belts and buckles. In addition, tack, saddles, Western ranch style furniture, furs and a lot of bling will be showcased throughout the event. South Point’s Western Gift Show will span more than 65,000 square feet across the South Point Arena Concourse and Exhibit Hall, offering guests a vast array of gift ideas and merchandize. This event is free and open to the public.

Benny Binion Bucking Horse and Bull Sale – Dec. 4 & 6
South Point Arena and Equestrian Center will host the Benny Binion Bucking Horse and Bull Sale, one of the premier events during the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) Dec. 4 & 6. This annual two-day sale will feature two- and three-year-old colts and yearlings as well as two-year-old bulls. The Benny Binion Horse and Bull sale will feature the top permit-holders from the 2014 season in all six events. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will go to the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame. Tickets are available and start at $12.

PRCA ProRodeo Presents the “Permit Holder of the Year Challenge” – Thursday, Dec. 4
South Point Arena and Equestrian Center welcomes the PRCA ProRodeo “Permit Holder of the Year Challenge” on Thursday, Dec. 4. Guests will enjoy various competitions, including bareback riders, saddle bronc riders, bull riders, steer wrestling, tie-down roping and team roping. The top five PRCA Permit Holders will compete in a two-round showdown performance for the $21,000 grand prize. Tickets are available and start at $18.

World Bronc Futurity Finale – Friday, Dec. 5
South Point Arena and Equestrian Center will host the World Bronc Futurity Finale Friday, Dec. 5. This international event will feature the next generation of world champion bucking horses along with many of the top 50 Saddle Bronc riders in the world. Tickets are available and start at $18.

The Art of the American Cowboy Fine Art Show & Sale – Dec. 7 – 14
South Point Exhibit Hall will host the Art of the American Cowboy Fine Art Show & Sale Dec. 7 – 14. Guests will experience an authentic Western art show. Throughout the week, guests will have the chance to view distinguished Western artists work and purchase limited edition pieces they desire. This event is free and open to the public.

World Series of Team Roping – Dec. 7 – 14
For the ninth consecutive year, South Point Arena and Equestrian Center welcomes the World Series of Team Roping Dec. 7 – 14. Guests will have the opportunity to experience the third richest rodeo event in the world and one of the most exciting events during the National Finals Rodeo (NFR). Throughout the week, more than 3,000 roping contestants will attend the event as the world’s best ropers compete for a share of the $9 million prize pool. Guests will witness some of the best team-ropers from across the country battle it out for the championship title. This event is free and open to the public.

 

Holiday Hoops College Basketball – Dec. 18 – 22
South Point Arena welcomes Holiday Hoops College Basketball Dec. 18 – 22. This event will feature both Division-I and Division-II men’s and women’s college basketball teams. Colleges competing in this event include, Northwest Nazarene University, University of Southern Indiana, Western Washington University, West Texas A&M University, Tarleton State University, Drury University, California State University – San Bernardino, Miami University of Ohio, Old Dominion University, University of Illinois at Chicago, Mississippi State University, University of Wisconsin – Green Bay, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Bradley University and University of California – Irvine. Both men’s and women’s collegiate basketball teams will compete in two tournaments, battling for the holiday hoops championship title. Tickets are not yet available.

 

Rocky Mountain Gun Show – Dec. 19 – 21
South Point Exhibit Hall welcomes the Rocky Mountain Gun Show Nov. 8 – 9. The two-day exhibition offers adrenaline enthusiasts, hunters and outdoor adventurers access to one of the world’s largest displays of machinery, ammunition and apparel. Tickets will be on sale soon.

D3 Hoops Classic – Dec. 27 – 30
South Point Arena will host the D3 Hoops Classic Dec. 27 – 30. This event will feature both Division-III men’s and women’s college basketball teams. Colleges competing in this event include Occidental College, University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, Wentworth Institute of Technology University of Wisconsin – Platteville, University of Scranton, Husson University, Hampden-Sydney College, Wartburg College, Colorado College, Clark College, Fairleigh Dickinson University – Florham, Wisconsin Lutheran College, Willamette University and Hanover University. Guests will witness these teams compete for the D3 Hoops Classic championship title. Tickets are not yet available.
