REBELS READY FOR TUESDAY’S WINTER COMMENCEMENT

19 UNLV student-athletes eligible to walk in graduation ceremony at Thomas & Mack Center

Nineteen UNLV student-athletes are eligible to take part in Tuesday’s annual Winter Commencement Ceremonies on campus.

The list includes Rebels who wrapped up their course work this semester or will in Spring 2015.

Some graduates, such as Andrew Oberg (football) and Jordan Hardy (track & field), have remaining eligibility and will continue competing for their respective teams while either pursuing a master’s or second bachelor’s degree.

UNLV Athletics graduates from the 2014 Winter Class will move on to become professionals in such fields as civil engineering, nursing, political science, kinesiology, elementary education, and journalism & media studies among others.

Nearly 2,000 UNLV undergraduate, graduate and professional students are eligible to participate in this year’s Winter Commencement Ceremonies, which begin at 4 p.m. on Dec. 16 at the Thomas & Mack Center. The grads range in age from 19 to 70 and hail from 56 foreign countries. Of the graduates, 82 percent are Nevada residents.
