$70,000 Raised At Golf 4 The Kids Tournament

Proceeds Will Support Two Nevada Nonprofit Organizations

It’s a record breaker! The annual Golf 4 The Kids Tournament raised $70,000 through corporate sponsorships, foursomes and donations on the day of the event which was held on Red Rock Country Club’s private Mountain Course.

Now in its third year, Golf 4 The Kids supports two charities: Cure 4 The Kids Foundation and the Nevada Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation. After expenses, the money will be split equally between the two 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.

“This illustrates the willingness of our community to help those in need,” said Cure 4 The Kids Foundation CEO Annette Logan. “To see how this tournament has grown and the impact these dollars will have is truly inspiring to us.”

“We were hoping to surpass last year’s fundraising goal, but a significant jump like this is just incredible,” said Kelli Walters, Executive Director of the Nevada Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation. “We owe our thanks to the many corporate sponsors, golfers and volunteers.”

The Nevada Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation will use to the money to send children with inherited bleeding disorders to a special, medically supervised summer camp at no cost to families. With a number of physicians and nurses on hand during camp, the kids are allowed to have fun in an outdoor environment and also learn how to become independent while dealing with their disorder.

Cure 4 The Kids Foundation will use the money to support its Charity Care Program at its two clinics: The Children’s Specialty Center of Nevada and the Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC) of Nevada. The Specialty Center treats children affected by cancer, blood disorders, rare and ultra rare, genetic and rheumatologic conditions. The HTC treats children and adults with inherited bleeding disorders. At both clinics, treatment is provided to all patients, including those without medical insurance or the ability to pay for treatment.

Again this year, professional golfer, teaching instructor and inherited bleeding disorders spokesperson Perry Parker served as tournament host and also played the course.

Returning sponsors this year include: Gold Sponsor CSL Behring, Bronze Sponsors Novo Nordisk, Baxter and the Hemophilia Treatment Center of Nevada.

Last year’s event raised more than $46,000.
