More than 700 job seekers attend Goodwill Hiring Event featuring 80+ hiring employers & 1,600 open jobs

Goodwill of Southern Nevada’s hiring event at The Boulevard Mall, located at 3528 S. Maryland Parkway, on Tuesday June 16, 2015 attracted more than 700 job seekers, including local veterans seeking employment.

The event, sponsored by Bank of America, allowed those looking for work to meet employers face to face. Some employers conducted interviews onsite. Veterans and others could also sign up for Goodwill’s no-cost job placement and training services.

The hiring event was an extension of Goodwill of Southern Nevada’s Veteran Integration Program, or VIP, which offers specific job placement programs to veterans and their immediate family members, in addition to veteran employment specialists who provide peer-to-peer assistance. This program was recently awarded Bank of America’s prestigious Neighborhood Builder grant of $200,000 to grow such vital services for veterans.

Since its inception in late 2012, Goodwill’s VIP has helped nearly 600 veterans and immediate family members secure employment in Southern Nevada.
