Partnership with Bank of America Opens Five New Goodwill Donation Locations

Donation Locations Create Jobs and Increase Donor Convenience

For the first time in Goodwill of Southern Nevada’s 40-year history in the greater Las Vegas area, a local bank is donating space at multiple branches for convenient attended donation locations for the local nonprofit.

As of today at 7 a.m., five new freestanding Goodwill donation locations are officially open in the parking lots at the following Bank of America branches across the valley:

4801 W Charleston Blvd. (at Decatur)

4800 W Tropicana Ave. (at Decatur)

1100 N Green Valley Parkway (at Pebble)

641 Mall Ring Circle (Galleria Mall)

8581 W Lake Mead Blvd. (at Rampart)

Each donation location is staffed with a Goodwill Donation Ambassador who will provide donors with a donation receipt, provide customer service to donors and safeguard goods. The opening of the new donation locations creates three full-time jobs and five part-time positions in Goodwill of Southern Nevada’s operations department.

The donation locations are open seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“By hosting multiple Goodwill donation sites, Bank of America is making a tremendous ongoing commitment to what continues to be a pressing concern in our community – unemployment,” said Steve Chartrand, president & CEO of Goodwill of Southern Nevada.

Donations of goods are critical to Goodwill of Southern Nevada’s mission of helping people in Southern Nevada find work, no matter circumstance or disability. Donated goods are sold in local Goodwill retail stores and fund Goodwill’s life-changing, no-cost job placement and job training programs. Last year alone, Goodwill of Southern Nevada helped 2,361 individuals in this community secure steady employment.

This announcement follows Bank of America awarding Goodwill’s Veteran Integration Program (VIP) with its signature $200,000 Neighborhood Builders grant. The grant will assist approximately 225 veterans and/or family members to find work in Southern Nevada over a two-year period.

“We continue to be impressed by Goodwill of Southern Nevada’s dedication to serving not only veterans but the entire community,” said George W. Smith, Nevada President of Bank of America. “Many of the new donation locations will be staffed by local veterans and we are proud to partner with a nonprofit that believes as strongly as we do in helping local veterans succeed.”
