Carlos’n Charlie’s recently opened their first west-coast restaurant in the Las Vegas Flamingo Hotel. We spent a Saturday evening there and completely enjoyed it. The food was really good and it’s just a fun place to be. The music was hopping and the servers and bartenders interact with the DJ performing dances and skits. It was entertaining and often hilarious.
We opted for the quiet booth in the corner this night but there definitely was a party going on outside on the patio and the inside bar looked pretty happening too. Our server was Sam and she was funny, quick witted and humorous. She begged us to drink lots of alcohol but you know we didn’t. Iced tea and Lemonade is more our style. We had the Super Mix appetizer platter and we couldn’t go into a Mexican restaurant without some chips-n-salsa. The chef even whipped up some Habanero salsa for us….. Twice. Yeah we like it hot.
For dinner we had the Chicken Crispy Flautas, Charlie’s Chimichanga, Carne Asada Burrito, Peep & Oink & Shrimp BBQ and of course Charlie’s Tacos. The portions were good sized, arrived quickly and were devoured almost as quickly. Everything was sizzling well with the habanero salsa the chef made for us. The crew there was not only entertaining but very attentive as well. We were constantly checked on and had everything we wanted and needed.
Dessert time, one of our favorites. We ordered coffee while waiting for our Caramel Crepes, Banana Chimichanga, and Awesome Brownie. What a great assortment of sweetness. We finished it all. By this time we were pretty full and gave in to Carlos’n Charlie’s.
All in all this was a fun evening, very entertaining with lots of good food. The Flamingo is a great resort with everything a visitor would want. Check out The Flamingo and be sure to go to Carlos’n Charlie’s. Tell them Vegas24seven sent you!
