Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino will add another spectacular show to its “2012 Bud Light Lime Beach Concert Series” line-up when it presents The All-American Rejects on the Mandalay Bay Beach stage Saturday, Aug. 11 at 9 p.m.

The concert season, which kicked off this past weekend with an entertaining performance by alternative rock band Weezer, is scheduled to run through September on the Mandalay Bay Beach stage, rising over the Four Diamond resort’s signature sand and surf wave pool. Over the course of the past 12 years, this one-of-a-kind concert venue has hosted some of entertainment’s biggest names covering a wide range of musical genres. Concertgoers are invited to bring their blankets, sit on the beach or wade in the surf while listening to the music from the cool confines of Mandalay Bay’s 1.6 million gallon wave pool.

The 2012 festivities continue Saturday, June 30 with the SUMMERLAND 2012 tour featuring performances by Everclear, Sugar Ray, Gin Blossoms, Lit and Marcy Playground. Additional performers scheduled throughout the summer include Prince Royce & Intocable, Sublime with Rome & Cypress Hill, Colbie Caillat performing with Gavin DeGraw, 311 with Slightly Stoopid, Sugarland and a solo performance by Ziggy Marley. Additional entertainment will be announced in the near future.

    ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS – Saturday, Aug. 11

The All-American Rejects, an American alternative rock band formed in Stillwater, Okla. in 1999, will bring its popular music and entertaining concert performance to the Mandalay Bay Beach stage Saturday, Aug. 11 at 9 p.m. Tickets priced at $40, not including applicable service charges, go on sale tomorrow, Friday, June 22 at 10 a.m. For reservations, call the Mandalay Bay Box Office at (702) 632-7580.

The band features lead vocalist/bass guitarist Tyson Ritter, lead guitarist/back-up vocalist Nick Wheeler, rhythm guitarist/back-up vocalist Mike Kennerty and drummer/percussionist Chris Gaylor. They achieved mainstream success with the debut self-titled album, The All-American Rejects, released in 2003. The album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and spawned the hit single “Swing, Swing.” The band’s second album, Move Along (2005), produced three hit singles including “It Ends Tonight,” “Dirty Little Secret” and “Move Along,” all of which landed in the Top 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. “Move Along” and “Dirty Little Secret” both sold more than 2 million digital downloads in the U.S. The album itself was certified double platinum by the RIAA.

The group’s third album, When the World Comes Down, was released in December 2008 and was later certified gold by RIAA. The first single “Gives You Hell” became the band’s first song to earn success internationally as it quickly ranked in the Top 20 of the UK Singles chart. On March 21, 2011, the RIAA certified “Gives You Hell” four-times multi-platinum for sales of more than 4 million in the U.S. The band’s fourth and most recent album, Kids in the Street, was released worldwide in March and debuted in the U.S. at No. 18 on the Billboard 200 chart. Over the course of their career, The All-American Rejects have sold more than 10 million albums worldwide.
