AUGUST EVENT SCHEDULE AT SOUTH POINT HOTEL, CASINO & SPA EVENTS
Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association “Western U.S. Championship” – July 30 – Aug. 3
South Point Arena will host the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association (CMSA) “Western U.S. Championship” July 30 – Aug. 3. During the fastest growing equestrian sport in the nation, riders ranging from novice to seasoned professional will compete in a fast-action timed event using two .45 caliber single action revolvers each with five rounds of specially prepared blank ammunition. This event is free and open to the public.
Art N’ Ink Festival – Aug. 8 – 10
South Point Hotel welcomes the best of the tattoo industry with local and international ink slingers during the second annual Art N’ Ink Festival Aug. 8 – 10. The three-day festival will feature a multitude of tattoo artists, burlesque shows, tattoo contests, pin-up fashion, classic car shows as well as nonstop freestyle motocross performed by Metal Mulisha and Fitz Army. Guests will get to mingle with some of the industry’s top artists such as Roman Abrego from “Artistic Element,” Daniel Rocha from “Seven Tattoo,” Big Sleeps from “Letters to Live By,” Rich Pineda from “Rich Pineda Art” and Fonzy from “Greaskull Tattoo Alley.” In addition, South Point will host a craft beer festival on Friday, Aug. 8 from 5 to 9 p.m. During the craft beer event, Art N’ Ink Festival ticketholders will enjoy complimentary samples from more than 15 brewers.
This year’s festival will feature a charitable element as tattoo artist Abrego has donated a 1969 Dodge Charger to benefit the Fxck Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness and educating others about the importance of early cancer detection. The 1969 Dodge Charger, valued at $80,000, will be given away during a raffle drawing on Sunday, Aug. 10.
The Art N’ Ink Festival will take place Friday from 3 to 11 p.m., Saturday from 1 to 11 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m. Individual tickets are on sale and start at $17.
LVCHA Futurity, Aged and Open Cutting Horse Show & Western Gift Expo – Aug. 19 – 27
South Point Arena will host the Las Vegas Cutting Horse Association’s “Futurity,” “Open Cutting” and “Aged Cutting” events Aug. 19 – 27. Throughout the week, fans will witness the nonstop action of an equestrian cutting show. In addition to the excitement in the Arena, guests will have the opportunity to exhibit and purchase Western-lifestyle items such as jewelry, shirts, boots, hats and more at the Western Gift Show in the Arena’s concourse. This event is free and open to the public.
