Grammy award-winning rock legend Boz Scaggs will perform live at The Pearl Concert Theater inside Palms Casino Resort on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 8 p.m. with special guest Dave Mason. Tickets start at $49, plus additional service fees.

Boz Scaggs has put the finishing touches on his new album, titled Memphis. The multi-platinum selling musician has signed with 429 Records and will release Memphis on March 5. Showcasing both original songs and cover choices, Memphis was produced by Steve Jordan (John Mayer) and was recorded at Willie Mitchell’s legendary Royal Studio in Memphis, where the late Mitchell recorded Al Green and other Hi Records artists. Joining Scaggs on Memphis are Willie Weeks (bass), Ray Parker Jr. (guitar), Spooner Oldham (keyboards), the Memphis Horns, Lester Snell (string arrangements) and Steve Jordan (drums).

William Royce “Boz” Scaggs’ started playing music while in high school in Dallas in the ’60s. After several weeks of college, he decided to devote himself instead to journeyman playing around campuses and various clubs and resorts. Scaggs’ guitar and voice provided his self-described “ticket to ride” as he left the States to travel in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Returning in 1967, he developed his skills as a songwriter and recording artist, joining fellow Texan Steve Miller in San Francisco on several albums, before launching into a solo career. He signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records debuting with the renowned Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section and Duane Allman. Critical acclaim followed, together with a long-term relationship with Columbia Records which yielded the multi-platinum album, Silk Degrees in 1976. That record brought five hit singles and Scaggs’ first Grammy Award. A succession of follow-ups led him on a multi-genre musical journey with successes in film tracks and even a #1 Billboard jazz album, But Beautiful.

He continues to record and tour worldwide and also performs extensively alongside Michael McDonald and Donald Fagen of Steely Dan in their band The Dukes of September, which can be seen in their upcoming PBS Special as part of the “Great Performances” series.

Raised in Texas with an abiding respect for a wide spectrum of American roots music, Scaggs has used his unique and creative voice to create a trademark sound which combines R&B and blues with jazz and popular music. With an extensive and distinctive career that has expanded over time and garnered many accolades, Scaggs continues to explore new means of musical expression.

World-renowned Dave Mason joins Scaggs for the tour. An inductee of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Worcester England native begin his career at 18, joining Steve Winwood as a member of Traffic. He went on to a successful and long solo career and is most famous for his widely covered song “We Just Disagree” as well as the classic rock staple “Feelin’ Alright.”
