First, Second and Third in Blood Donations
According to United Blood Services (UBS), blood drives held at the Cannery, Eastside Cannery and Rampart Casinos contributed a combined 2,236 units between December 1, 2010 and November 30, 2011. The amount is 30 percent of the total 7,339 collected by all hotels, resorts and casinos in our community in the past year. Cannery Casino Resorts surpassed donations in the category for the third consecutive year.
“United Blood Services is responsible for providing thousands of units of blood annually to medical facilities in our community,” says Danny Cervantes, Donor Recruitment Director for United Blood Services. “We can only meet that demand with the generous and dedicated support of properties such as the Cannery, Rampart and Eastside Cannery Casinos.”
“As the dedicated blood provider in our community, blood drives are an extremely important tool for UBS to provide an adequate supply to medical facilities at the moment it is needed. Since no one can predict when an emergency will strike, UBS must always have an adequate supply on hand”.
