Chefs for Kids received a $4,054.00 donation from Whole Foods Market Town Square following its 5 percent shopping day. Chefs for Kids supports Nutrition education in the Clark County School District through the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension. The group works with second grade students in under served areas teaching children how to make healthier lifestyle food choices. The organization will serve breakfast at 13 schools in 2015 – that’s almost 9,000 breakfasts! Donations support educational training, breakfasts and approximately Thanksgiving meals for 150 families each year. As well, a Christmas Eve breakfast with gifts and Mother’s Day luncheon to the families at Shade Tree Shelter www.chefsforkids.org.
