Dallas, TX’s Crown The Empire had a major first week with the release of their sophomore Rise Records effort, The Resistance: Rise of the Runaways.

With the help of their loyal fans dubbed “Runaways”, the album landed at #7 on Billboard’s Top 200 and took the #1 slot on the Rock, Hard Music and Independent charts. The LP also came in at #5 on the Digital charts.

Produced by Dan Korneff (Pierce The Veil, Paramore), mixed by Kris Crummet (ISSUES, A Lot Like Birds) and mastered by Joey Sturgis (The Devil Wears Prada, Of Mice & Men), The Resistance: Rise of the Runaways is the follow up to 2012’s debut, “The Fallout.”

Crown The Empire will complete their stint on the Monster Energy Stage on Vans Warped Tour this week and then will prepare for a national headline tour which kicks off on August 30 with support from Volumes, SECRETS, Ice Nine Kills and The Family Ruin. A European/UK Tour follows with Asking Alexandria, The Ghost Inside and SECRETS.

The band, who last week won a “Breakthrough Band” award at the inaugural Alternative Press APMA Awards, has also launched a new website at www.thisistheresistance.com.

Since bursting onto the scene in 2012 with their debut full-length, “The Fallout”, Crown The Empire have shown no signs of slowing down on their undeniable course toward world domination. The band have sold over 60,000
copies of their groundbreaking debut album, and have been busy touring the world repeatedly, and gracing magazine covers frequently.

Crown The Empire’s relentless touring schedule has found them sharing stages with such acts as Pierce the Veil, Asking Alexandria, and The Used. After being the breakout band on the 2013 Vans Warped Tour, the band was asked to return again this year as a Main Stage act.

Crown The Empire has been on the cover of Alternative Press over three times in the past year, a feat that has never been accomplished by a new band. They appeared first as the cover artist for Alternative Press’ “Bands You Need
To Know” issue, then again for their “Stars of Warped Tour” issue, and the band is on the cover of the magazine’s current (July) issue to help build early support for the new album.
