Golden Nugget Las Vegas Rounds Out Acclaimed 52 Fridays Concert Series with Back-to-Back Music Icons
Golden Nugget Las Vegas will top off its 2016 52 Fridays Concert Series with back-to-back headliners that include classic rockers, ’70 and ’80s icons, and all around music legends. The acclaimed weekly series brings top artists to The Gordie Brown Showroom every Friday night for electrifying performances inside the intimate theater that bring audiences to their feet. Among the performers headlining between October and December are The Guess Who, Foghat, Eddie Money, Loverboy, America, and more.

October 7 – The Guess Who
Canadian band, The Guess Who, rose to prominence in the ’60s and ’70s with hits including “Shakin’ All Over,” “These Eyes,” “American Woman,” “Share the Land,” and “Clap for the Wolfman.” With cuttingly sarcastic lyrics and powerful guitar riffs, “American Woman” has gone down in music history as the group’s most instantly recognizable song among people of all ages and origins.
October 14 – Foghat
“Move to the music, we can move all night.” Boogie-blues rockers Foghat will take fans on a journey through their favorite hits including “Slow Ride,” “Drivin’ Wheel,” “I Just Want to Make Love to You,” and more. The group, which has performed together for more than 40 years, has earned eight gold albums, one platinum album, and one double platinum album. The bands rollicking performances have garnered it lifelong fans from around the world.
October 21 – Eddie Money
Legendary American rock guitarist, saxophonist, and singer-songwriter Eddie Money found success in the ’70s and ’80s with a string of Top 40 hits and platinum albums. An innovator in the early MTV era, Money released humorous videos for songs including “Shakin” and “Think I’m in Love.” In 1986, Money released his iconic album, “Can’t Hold Back,” which included fan favorite “Take Me Home Tonight.”
October 28 – Loverboy
Arena rockers, Loverboy, took over the FM airwaves during the ’80s, releasing some of the decade’s most memorable hits. These include “Turn Me Loose,” “Lovin’ Every Minute of It,” “This Could Be the Night,” “When It’s Over,” and “Working for the Weekend” – which remains a pop culture anthem for the masses. To date, the band has four multi-platinum and three double-platinum albums under its belt, among countless other accolades.
November 4 – America
British rockers America defined the soft rock sound of the ’70s. Known for their vocal harmonies and light acoustic sound, multi-instrumentalists Dewey Bunnell, Dan Peek, and Gerry Beckley became household names with transatlantic hits including “A Horse with No Name,” “I Need You,” “Tin Man,” “Lonely People,” “Sister Golden Hair,” “Daisy Jane,” and more. The group continues to delight audiences around the world with the breezy, wistful harmonies that keep crowds coming back for more.
November 11 – Lou Gramm “The Juke Box Hero” & Former Voice of Foreigner
“Jukebox Hero” Lou Gramm skyrocketed to stardom with the arena rock band Foreigner and its hits that included “Cold as Ice,” “Double Vision,” “Hot Blooded,” and more. Gramm went on to mount a successful solo career, which included hits “Midnight Blue” and “Just Between You and Me.” Known for his soaring vocals, Gramm is widely considered a definitive voice of the ’70s and ’80s.
November 18 – Little River Band
Little River Band is one of the most successful acts to come out of Melbourne since they formed in 1975. Known for their mellow country-pop sound, they were the first Australian group to enjoy sustained commercial success in the U.S. During their career, they have sold more than 25 million albums and charted 13 Top 40 Hits.
November 25 – Eric Burdon & The Animals
“There is a house in New Orleans…” Quintessential rockers, The Animals, spearheaded the British Invasion in the ’60s and ’70s with timeless classics including “The House of the Rising Sun,” “We Gotta Get Out of This Place,” “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood,” and more. Led by the gritty, bluesy voice of front man Eric Burdon, The Animals have racked up ten Top 20 hits and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. In 1999 and again in 2011, they were honored with the prestigious GRAMMY Hall of Fame Award.
December 16 – Gary Puckett & The Union Gap Band
Gary Puckett & The Union Gap Band burst onto the scene in the ’60s with chart-topping ballads that pioneered a sound and style that would go on to be emulated by others. With hits including “Young Girl,” “Woman Woman,” “Lady Willpower,” and “Over You,” the group garnered a dedicated fan base that have had them performing on average 150 performances to sold out crowds every year.
December 30 – Morris Day & The Time
Morris Day rose to prominence as co-founder of The Time alongside Prince and played an essential role in the development of the Twin City dance and club sound of the ’80s. In 1984, Day launched a solo career, but has since rejoined The Time, recently performing a Prince Tribute in London organized by the charity Autism Rock.
