Goodwill of Southern Nevada announces the grand reopening of its Goodwill Tropicana Store and Drive Up Donation Center on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 9 a.m.
For the past few weeks, sections of the 12,000 square-foot sales floor have been closed off for remodeling. Updates include new flooring, new fixtures and clothes racks, and a new cash register bank.
The entire store will be closed for business on Thursday, July 10, 2014 so that the sales floor can be rearranged to accommodate 25% more merchandise for shoppers. The store will be re-stocked with new donations of gently used items, including a massive display of home goods, like dishware, glasses and vases.
Goodwill’s Tropicana Store opened in 2005. In December 2009, Goodwill added a Career Connections Center – its second Career Connections Center in Las Vegas – to the rear of the store, offering job seekers computer access, employment counseling and job training.
The sale of donated goods in Goodwill of Southern Nevada retail stores fund the nonprofit’s job placement programs. Every donation and all funds raised stay local to help the Southern Nevada community.
Last year, Goodwill of Southern Nevada helped more than 2,000 people find employment at a variety of local businesses.
