Guns and Ammo Garage Provides Customers with Improved Air Quality
Recently upgraded HVAC system far exceeds Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements
Guns and Ammo Garage, an indoor shooting range, recently upgraded to a state-of-the-art air filtration and ventilation system that provides customers with one of the highest air quality ratings for a gun range in Las Vegas.
After extensive testing and monitoring conducted by OSHA and other independent contractors, Guns and Ammo Garage’s air filtration system has greatly exceeded the air quality standards for airborne lead levels. Current OSHA standards require gun ranges to be below a reading of 50 micrograms per cubic meter of lead, based on an eight-hour time-weighted average. Guns and Ammo Garage, during its final testing, had a lead reading of 1.4 micrograms per cubic meter, which far exceeds the permissible exposure limit during a high-traffic period.
When a firearm is discharged the burning gun powder and primer release lead and other airborne hazards that can accumulate in the air, and if not filtered properly, may cause irritation and eventually health problems after long-term exposure. Ventilation and filtration is essential to eliminating the possible effects of exposure.
