HISTORY’s ‘Counting Cars’ Donating Thousands of Toy Cars to Las Vegas Children’s Charities

As the second season of HISTORY’s Las Vegas-based car restoration show Counting Cars gets underway, the “Count the Cars” tour turns into a charitable culmination. Over the last few weeks, HISTORY brought a 1966 Cadillac Coupe de Ville – restored by Danny Koker and the crew at Count’s Kustoms and filled with tens of thousands of mini-cars – to car shows and races around the country. Fans at the events (and online) guessed how many mini cars were inside for the chance to win the Cadillac.

The winner has yet to be announced, but HISTORY has decided to donate the toy cars to the Las Vegas Speedway Children’s Charities, which, since 1999, has distributed $1.7 million in funding to children’s organizations in the southern Nevada area surrounding the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Charities that benefit from the the Las Vegas Speedway’s program include the Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas, Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation, Candlelighters for Childhood Cancer, Lied Discovery Children’s Museum and Nevada Children’s Center, Inc., to name just a few.
