Vegas24Seven.com was invited to enjoy and review a meal at Hussongs Cantina. It’s located at Mandalay Place between Mandalay Bay and Luxor. We arrived right on time and were nicely greeted and introduced to our server Louis. Hussongs is an interesting establishment patterned and decorated like the original cantina in Ensenada Mexicoa. There is a lot of art and conversation pieces through out the restaurant. The music playing was a nice mix and just the right volume to allow for conversation.
We started with their famous chips and salsa and added guacamole. The chips are thicker than most but not hard the way they’re cooked and served. They were very good. They have a green salsa, a red salsa and we asked for the Salsa Caliente from the back. It was HOT just the way we like it. We ordered the Dorado Lobster Tacos and the Skirt Steak Chili Releno and enjoyed numerous buckets of tortilla chips and salsa and the delicious chunky fresh guacamole. Our meals arrived just on time and prepared to perfection. Both meals were unique in there ingredients and preparation. We really did enjoy them … they were delicious! We capped off the meal with the Churros for dessert. Not just any churros but their special filled churros on ice cream. That was really really good and done to perfection.

The margarita was invented at Hussong’s in Ensenada and the Las Vegas location would not be complete without the Original Margarita, made of Azul Reposado 100% Blue Agave Tequila, Triple Sec, freshly Squeezed lime juice and Agave Nectar, which has never been known to disappoint. Another house favorite is the El Pepino Margarita, a combination of Milagro Silver 100% Blue Agave Tequila, Triple Sec, fresh sweet and sour and Gran Marnier.
