CTCA to host Cooking Demonstrations and sponsor Susan G. Komen Southern Nevada Race for the Cure® Survivor Recognition Tent in Las Vegas

In honor of Cancer Awareness Month, Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) will participate in a series of events the first week of May to promote the benefits of healthy living through cooking demonstrations and sponsor the Survivor Recognition Tent at the 17th Annual Susan G. Komen Southern Nevada Race for the Cure®.

Wednesday, May 2 – Whole Foods Market – Cooking Demonstration
CTCA Executive Chef Frank Caputo will demonstrate how to cook healthy meals at home and talk about the benefits of healthy eating. Guests will learn how to recreate the Kale and Walnut Pesto, Frank’s Ponzu and Fresh Summer Rolls. In addition to Chef Frank, Sharon Day, Director of Nutrition for Cancer Treatment Centers of America will be available to answer questions, highlight the importance of nutrition and discuss the “Dirty Dozen” – a list of 12 cancer fighting fruits and vegetables. The event will be held at Whole Foods Market on 8855 W. Charleston Blvd. from

Thursday, May 3 – “Taste & Toast Thursdays” at Tivoli Village – Cooking Demonstration
Executive Chef Frank Caputo is the featured chef at this event located at Tivoli Village in the Northwest. He will be demonstrating healthy cooking, promoting healthy living and providing samples of Detox Delicious, a smoothie made with organic fruits and vegetables. Throughout the demonstration, Sharon Day, Director of Nutrition for CTCA will highlight the importance of nutrition and the “Dirty Dozen.” Guests will receive recipe cards and materials on the benefits of healthy eating. This event will be held from 5-8 p.m. and is free to the public.

Saturday, May 5 – Susan G. Komen Southern Nevada Race for the Cure® at Fremont Street Experience
CTCA will participate in the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® at Fremont Street Experience. CTCA is the local sponsor of the Survivor Recognition Tent this year. The race will begin at 8:15 a.m. To register for the event or for more information, please visit www.komensouthernnevada.org
