The Las Vegas 51s professional baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, will open a season long 12-game, 13-day homestand on Saturday, July 29 against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, at Cashman Field at 7:05 p.m. The four-game series against the Sky Sox will conclude on Tuesday, August 1. The PCL has a scheduled off day on Wednesday, August 2. Las Vegas will then host the Oklahoma City Dodgers, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, in a four-game series from Thursday-Sunday, August 3-6. The homestand will conclude with a four-game series against intrastate rival, the Reno Aces, Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, from Monday-Thursday, August 7-10. All 12 games on the homestand will begin at 7:05 p.m.
The 51s, under first-year manager Pedro Lopez, are currently on an all-Tennessee eight-game road trip that will conclude in Nashville against the Sounds, Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland A’s, on Friday, July 28.
2017 CASHMAN FIELD ATTENDANCE: In 47 dates, Las Vegas’ total is 243,672 for an average of 5,185. Las Vegas has recorded four sellouts: 9,872 for Star Wars Night/Fireworks on April 28 vs. Albuquerque; season-high crowd of 10,342 for the Smokers Strike Out 14th Annual School Day Game on May 3 vs. Tacoma; 9,559 for the Fireworks/Nevada Donor Network Donate Life Night on May 5 vs. Tacoma; 9,353 for the Fireworks Extravaganza on July 4 vs. El Paso. The Las Vegas franchise has reached the 300,000 plateau in “home” attendance in all 34 seasons (1983-2016). The all-time attendance total now stands at 11,553,400. The 51s organization have the proud distinction of being the longest enduring franchise in the history of professional sports in the state of Nevada.
Rebel Jersey Night, presented by the Nevada Department of Wildlife, will be distributed to the first 2,500 fans through the gates (open at 6 p.m.), in the opener of the homestand vs. Colorado Springs on Saturday, July 29.
Budweiser Dollar Beer Night will be presented twice on Thursday, August 3 against Oklahoma City and in the finale of the homestand against the Aces on Thursday, August 10. Dollar Beer Night will be featured at every Thursday home game during the 2017 season. Proper identification and wristbands are required for dollar beer night.
A spectacular post-game “Fireworks Show,” presented by Albertsons will be featured in game two of the series against the Dodgers on Friday, August 4.
Kids Night Out & 51s Cooler Bag Night, will be distributed to the first 2,500 fans through the gates (open at 6 p.m.), in game three of the series vs. Oklahoma City on Saturday, August 5.
MiLB Es Divertido Ser Un Fan – “It’s Fun To Be A Fan Campaign” at Cashman Field on Tuesday, August 1 & 8:
The 51s will transform to the Las Vegas Reyes de Plata (“Silver Kings”) for two games during the homestand. The Reyes de Plata will wear special hats and jerseys for the “two” Tuesday games as they host the Sky Sox (August 1) and Aces (August 8).
MiLB (on July 24) launched Es Divertido Ser Un Fan, a new multi-cultural fan engagement platform aimed at specifically connecting with Hispanic/Latino baseball fans in 160 markets throughout the U.S. and Canada. The program will debut this August in select MiLB markets, including Las Vegas, Charlotte, North Carolina; Kane County, Illinois; and Visalia, California, with a national expansion planned for 2018.
The Las Vegas Reyes de Plata will take the field celebrating the city and state’s pioneering history at the forefront of the precious metal mining business that continues to define the Silver State today.
“The Reyes de Plata name plays off the fact that Nevada is the Silver State and embraces the impact and history that the Hispanic/Latino community had early in the precious metals mining industry that ultimately made Nevada state-worthy during the final months of the Civil War. The Tuesday re-branding that will occur during August games is something that is unique in professional sports and goes beyond one-off heritage nights,” said 51s General Manager/VP of Sales & Marketing Chuck Johnson.
“Smith’s Value Menu Monday” will be presented twice during the homestand on July 31 vs. Colorado Springs and in the opener of the four-game series vs. Reno on August 7. Monday “home” games will feature a “Value Menu” for the ninth straight season! The 51s and Centerplate have teamed together for discounted food items on Hot Dogs, Popcorn, Peanuts, Cracker Jacks and Pretzels for just $1.00 per item.
WestStar Credit Union “Winning Wednesday” will be featured for the final time during the ’17 season on Wednesday, August 9 vs. Reno in game three of the series.
SILVER STATE DIAMOND CHALLENGE: In 2009, Las Vegas and Reno developed the Silver State Diamond Challenge and the “Silver Plate Trophy” to add to the excitement to the rivalry for the two PCL teams that represent the state of Nevada…Reno defeated Las Vegas, 3-games-to-1, in the 2015 PCL Conference Championship Series.
The 2017 campaign will mark the ninth season of the S.S.D.C.

The 51s will broadcast all games on Lotus Broadcasting on NBC Sports Radio AM 920 ‘THE GAME’, which will carry live all 142 regular season games. Also, all games will be available on the 51s website (Major League Baseball Advanced Media, MLBAM) at www.LV51.com. Russ Langer, the 10-time Nevada Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA), is in his 18th season behind the microphone calling 51s baseball.

Colorado Springs’ roster features two of the top 10 prospects in the Brewers organization, according to Baseball America: Top prospect, outfielder Lewis Brinson and right-handed pitcher Brandon Woodruff (No. 7).
Outfielder Kirk Nieuwenhuis is also a member of the Sky Sox roster. He played in parts of three seasons for the 51s from 2013-15.
Oklahoma City’s roster features two of the top 10 prospects in the Dodgers organization, according to Baseball America: outfielder Alex Verdugo (No. 4) and second baseman Willie Calhoun (No. 5).
Reno’s roster features two of the top 10 prospects in the Diamondbacks organization, according to Baseball America: Top prospect, left-hander Anthony Banda and outfielder Socrates Brito (No. 4).
Following the homestand, Las Vegas will embark on an eight-game road trip beginning on Friday, August 11 in El Paso, Texas against the Chihuahuas, Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres. The four-game series will conclude on Monday, August 14. The 51s will then travel to Northern California to face the Fresno Grizzlies, Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, in a four-game series from Tuesday-Friday, August 15-18.

The individual game tickets for the 71-game home season are priced at $11.00 (reserved, $12.00-Day of Game); $14.00 (plaza, $15.00-Day of Game) and $16.00 (field, $17.00-Day of Game) & the blue dugout seats at $30.00 ($35-Day of Game). The traditional $2.00 discount for Military personnel is offered on plaza, field and reserved seats throughout the season.
