KIDS DO THE TEACHING AT NEON MUSEUM WITH JUNIOR INTERPRETER PROGRAM, BEGINNING SATURDAY, SEPT. 19

On Saturday, Sept. 19, at 9:30 a.m., the Neon Museum will present its first Junior Interpreter Tour. The first of a nine-month-long educational program offered for middle- and high-school-aged docents will take place on the third Saturday of each month through May, and marks the newest addition to the museum’s vibrant Volunteer Program.

These young interpreters will lead specialized, 30 to 45-minute tours focused on art, design and the science behind the signs for families and children ages 4 to 12. Designed to expand the museum’s educational outreach to families, the museum’s Junior Interpreter program also serves as a mentoring program for young docents. Museum staff train and supervise Junior Interpreters, who acquire valuable experience in teamwork, public speaking and professionalism. Along the way, they also learn about Las Vegas history, architecture, art and the distinctive role signs have played in illuminating the Las Vegas skyline and shaping its image around the world.

Advanced registration for Junior Interpreter tours is required. Tickets cost $5 per participant and may be purchased online here. For more information about the Neon Museum, go to www.NeonMuseum.org.
