The UNLV men’s basketball team will look for its third-straight victory as it closes out a two-game road trip at Wyoming on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 8 p.m. MT/7 p.m. PT at Arena-Auditorium.
The game will mark UNLV head coach Marvin Menzies’ 400th as a Division I collegiate head coach.
The Runnin’ Rebels (14-11, 8-5) are coming off a 2-0 week with wins against Air Force (77-72) at home last Tuesday and at San José State (71-64) on Saturday. UNLV, which has won three of its last four games, has matched last year’s MW win total of eight in just its 13th conference game this season.
In the previous meeting this season between UNLV and the Cowboys in Las Vegas on Jan. 5, freshman forward Joel Ntambwe scored a career-high 31 points and had 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season as the Runnin’ Rebels won 68-56.
UNLV is led in scoring this season by sophomore guard Amauri Hardy (13.2 ppg), senior guard Kris Clyburn (13.1 ppg) and Ntambwe (12.3 ppg). Sophomore forward Mbacke Diong is the team’s leading rebounder (6.5 rpg), while senior guard Noah Robotham leads the squad and is second in the MW in assists (5.0 apg). In just MW games, Robotham is the league leader (6.6 apg).
Wyoming (6-19, 2-10) has lost two straight games and five of its last six. Justin James leads the Cowboys and the MW in scoring with 20.7 ppg. The team is coming off an 82-49 loss to then-No. 7/6 UNR on Saturday.
Tuesday’s game will be televised by CBS Sports Network with Rich Waltz and Tim Doyle calling the action.
