South Point Hotel and Casino Hosts Las Vegas’ Premier Basketball Rivalry During Big City Showdown Rematch Between Findlay College Prep and Bishop Gorman
Saturday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m.
South Point Hotel hosts the sixth annual Big City Showdown (BCS), sponsored by Findlay Toyota, as Las Vegas’ top high school basketball teams, Findlay College Prep and Bishop Gorman, take the court for the season’s most anticipated basketball match on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m.
“The Big City Showdown is one of the most anticipated high school games of the season with some of the most elite up-and-coming basketball players this sport has ever seen,” said South Point Hotel and Casino General Manager Ryan Growney. “These young athletes have proven themselves to be incredibly talented and show a level of skill that will make for an exceptional rematch this year.”
Last year’s event attracted a near sold out crowd of students, entertainers, politicians, professional athletes and local sports fans who witnessed Bishop Gorman take the game with a 76 – 72 victory.
In addition to the BCS matchup, the tournament will highlight teams from Liberty High School, Centennial High School, Maranatha High School, Santa Monica High School and Las Vegas High School. Additional game schedules include:
- Bishop Gorman High School vs. Liberty High School Girls Basketball at 10 a.m.;
- Maranatha High School (Pasadena) vs. Centennial High School Boys Basketball at noon;
- Santa Monica High School vs. Las Vegas High School at 4 p.m.;
