South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa offers rodeo fans plenty to celebrate during the Nationals Finals Rodeo (NFR) Thursday, Dec. 5 – Sunday, Dec. 15. South Point transforms into “Vegas Cowboy Central” during Vegas’ largest rodeo event of the year with a full line up of live entertainment, Western art and gift shows, rodeo viewing parties, buckle presentations for NFR winners, rodeo events and more for cowboys and cowgirls to enjoy.

To kick start “Vegas Cowboy Central,” South Point Hotel hosts the 67th Annual Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) National Convention Tuesday, Dec. 3 – Wednesday, Dec. 4 from 12:30 to 4 p.m., and Thursday, Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon. Registration for the convention begins Monday, Dec. 2 at noon. Immediately following Tuesday’s convention, South Point Hotel hosts the official PRCA NFR Welcome Reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Kicking off the rodeo festivities, all PRCA members and NFR competitors will be honored at the PRCA Awards Banquet in the South Point Hotel Grand Ballroom Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. Tickets to the awards banquet are available on the PRCA website.

Coinciding with the NFR, the XIII World Series of Team Roping (WSTR) Finals, one of the world’s richest horse events, returns to the South Point Hotel Sunday, Dec. 8 – Sunday, Dec. 15. Throughout the week, more than 3,000 roping contestants will attend the event as the world’s best ropers compete for a share of the $7 million prize pool. What began as a small NFR side event, the WSTR has seen tremendous growth over the years making it one of the top five richest horse events in the world.

South Point Hotel offers an elaborate lineup of daily rodeo activities and special events to highlight the spirit of NFR week. The exclusive “Vegas Cowboy Central” events include:

National Finals Rodeo Official Viewing Parties

  • National Finals Rodeo Live Broadcast– Thursday, Dec. 5 – Saturday, Dec. 14

South Point will host free closed-circuit viewing parties in the Showroom and Grandview Lounge each night during NFR competition at 6:30 p.m. Doors to the viewings parties will open at 5:30 p.m. All guests must be 21 or older with a valid form of ID.

  • RAM Rodeo Tailgate Viewing Party – Thursday, Dec. 5 – Saturday, Dec. 14

During NFR, South Point will host a nightly RAM Rodeo Tailgate Viewing Party Thursday, Dec. 5 – Saturday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. Fans can watch a live feed from the NFR events on 20-foot high-definition screens paired with live arena scoring in the hotel’s Grand Ballroom. Throughout the tailgate, there will be a variety of food and drink specials. The event is free and open to the public.

  • Live Entertainment – Wednesday, Dec. 4 – Saturday, Dec. 14

There will be live entertainment inside the South Point Showroom each night of NFR at 9:30 p.m., midnight and 2 a.m. Special musical performances include Susie Dobbs Wednesday, Dec. 4 – Thursday, Dec. 5, Billy Childress Friday, Dec. 6 – Sunday, Dec. 8, Cody Johnson Monday, Dec. 9 – Wednesday, Dec. 11 and Aaron Watson with Wolf Creek Thursday, Dec. 12 – Saturday, Dec. 14.

  • Montana Silversmiths Go-Round Buckle Presentation – Wednesday, Dec. 4 – Friday, Dec. 13

NFR winners will be honored nightly at South Point during the Montana Silversmiths Go-Round Buckle presentation hosted by Flint Rasmussen and Randy Corley inside the Showroom each night at 11 p.m. All NFR contestants who were victorious during that day’s events will be invited to receive their buckle in front of South Point guests.

  • South Point Hotel Western Gift Show – Thursday, Dec. 5 – Sunday, Dec. 15

South Point will host a Western Gift Show Thursday, Dec. 5 – Sunday, Dec. 15 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. With more than 100 vendors, fans have the opportunity to “Cowboy Up” and purchase all things related to Western lifestyle, including shirts, jeans, cowboy hats, boots, belts and buckles. In addition tack, saddles, Western ranch style furniture, furs and lots of bling will be showcased throughout the event. The Western Gift Show will extend more than 65,000 square feet of the South Point Arena and Equestrian Center Concourse and Exhibit Hall offering guests an array of gift ideas and merchandise. The event is free and open to the public.

  • Art of the American Cowboy Sale and Auction – Sunday, Dec. 8 – Saturday, Dec. 14

South Point Arena and Equestrian Center will host the fourth annual Art of the American Cowboy Sale and Auction Sunday, Dec. 8 – Saturday, Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Guests will experience a true Western art show while artists complete works of art from start to finish. In addition, guests have the opportunity to participate in raffle drawings and a live art auction throughout the week. An original commissioned piece created by Brent Flory will be sold during a fine art auction on Friday, Dec. 13 at 1 p.m. Limited edition reproductions will also be available for guests to purchase throughout the show. The event is free and open to the public.

“Vegas Cowboy Central” Exclusive Rodeo Events:

  • Benny Binion Bucking Horse & Bull Sale – Thursday, Dec. 5 and Saturday, Dec. 7

South Point Arena and Equestrian Center will host the Benny Binion Bucking Horse and Bull Sale Thursday, Dec. 5 and Saturday, Dec. 7 beginning at 9 a.m. each day. A portion of the proceeds from the horse and bull sale will go to the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame. Tickets are available in advance of the event for $12.

  • World Futurity Bronc Finale – Friday, Dec. 6

The World Futurity Bronc Finale will take place at the South Point Arena and Equestrian Center on Friday, Dec. 6. Doors for the World Futurity Bronc Finale will open at noon and the show will begin promptly at 1 p.m. Tickets for the event are available for $18.

  • World Series of Team RopingSunday, Dec. 8 – Sunday, Dec. 15

The South Point Arena and Equestrian Center welcomes the XIII World Series of Team Roping, one of the richest horse events in the world, Sunday, Dec. 8 – Sunday, Dec. 15. Fans will witness the world’s 44 fastest amateur roping teams compete for a portion of the $7 million total purse throughout the week. This event is free and open to the public.
