Southern Nevada Schools Receive $20,000 in Donations

During Annual Community Connections Recognition Dinner

Community Connections Program Now Exceeds $1 Million in Donation History

Community Connections, the philanthropic arm of American Casino & Entertainment Properties, LLC (ACEP), recognized the efforts of four Southern Nevada/Northwest Arizona teachers, as well as ACEP employee volunteers, who have worked to improve the educational outcomes for thousands of students in Southern Nevada and Northwest Arizona.

To honor those efforts at the four schools, ACEP’s Community Connections program donated $5,000 to each school. The combined $20,000 in donations will be administered through the Public Education Foundation for the welfare and benefit of students. No funds will be used for administrative purposes. Since its inception in 2005, Community Connections has donated more than $1 million dollars through financial gifts, in-kind donations and other services.

The four teachers and four ACEP employees were formally recognized at the annual Community Connections Recognition Dinner held Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Ron’s Steakhouse, inside Arizona Charlie’s Decatur.

For several years, each ACEP, LLC property, including the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower, Arizona Charlie’s Casinos, Boulder and Decatur, and the Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin, Nevada has created a partnership with a specific school in their area. Employees at individual properties have worked throughout the year on a number of initiatives that include providing needed school supplies, backpacks, meals and special events.

Miguel Chandia-Alarcon, E. W. Griffith Elementary School, Las Vegas, Nevada
