Johan Furuly of Norway has won Ultimate Poker’s (www.ultimatepoker.com) Belt the Champ online poker tournament and will place the UFC® Light Heavyweight belt on the champion of UFC® 152 on Sept. 22 in Toronto.
As the grand prize winner of Ultimate Poker’s Belt the Champ Tournament, Furuly will travel to Toronto this week to experience VIP treatment at UFC® 152 and place the UFC® Light Heavyweight belt on the victor of the Jon “Bones” Jones / Vitor Belfort championship fight. Until now, only one person has placed the championship belt on fighters’ waists, UFC® President Dana White. Furuly will be the first person other than White in UFC® history to have the honor of belting the champ.
“Going to Toronto to experience UFC 152 in person is a dream come true,” remarked Furuly. “This is going to be the trip of a lifetime.”
Furuly has been playing poker for seven years, including competing in several major tournaments throughout Europe. He will be joined by a fellow poker player and UFC® fan.
