Winder Farms Turkey Drive Returns This Holiday Season
to Benefit Three Square Food Bank
Annual Turkey Drive to take place Nov. 1 – Dec. 31
Winder Farms, a premier grocery home delivery company operating in Southern Nevada, invites customers to once again help food insecure families during the holiday season with an annual turkey drive to benefit Three Square Food Bank. From Nov. 1 – Dec. 31 customers can donate by simply clicking on “Donate a Turkey to the Food Bank” then “Add to Next delivery” during their regular online shopping. The cost of the turkey will be added to the customer’s next bill and Winder Farms will deliver the turkey to Three Square Food bank.
“Everyone should have the chance to gather around a warm meal for the holidays, and unfortunately there are many families struggling with food insecurity who are unable to do so,” said Scott Tanner, President and Chief Financial Officer at Winder Farms. “Winder Farms’ annual turkey drive is just one way we are able to continue our ongoing partnership with Three Square and provide more meals for families in need. Our customers are able to help families in need with the simple click of a mouse, making it easier to provide more meals for those in need in our community.”
To celebrate the launch of the upcoming turkey drive, more than 15 employees from both Las Vegas and Utah visited Three Square Food Bank, located at 4190 N. Pecos Rd., to participate in a hands-on service project. On Thursday, Oct. 11 employees helped fill more than 1,100 bags of nutritious, kid-friendly, shelf-stable food to be given to children who lack adequate food over the weekend as part of Three Square’s “BackPack for Kids” Program. The team also packed boxes of healthy supplemental groceries including fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins for Three Square’s Senior Share Program.
“Winder Farms is a proud community partner of Three Square and what better way to kick off another great annual initiative than to roll up our sleeves and experience first-hand the invaluable programs and services this organization provides to the Las Vegas community,” Tanner added.
In addition to the holiday turkey drive, Winder Farms supports Three Square throughout the year by providing them with food donations from the Las Vegas office as well as by making it easy for customers to donate money with an option to make a donation when placing their weekly order.
