Ball Up Streetball Championship in Las Vegas – Cox Pavilion August 21st through 23rd – MVP to be Awarded with $100K Contract

Ball Up streetball will crown the newest All-Star during the Ball Up “Search for the Next” championship game, sounding the buzzer on the 2014 nationwide summer tour. During the ultimate showdown of talent and skill, a champion MVP will be selected and rewarded with a spot on the 2015 Ball Up roster and a contract worth $100,000.  On August 23, the finalists will go head to head against the Ball Up All-Stars at 7:00 p.m. at Cox Pavilion (University of Nevada – 4505 S Maryland Pkwy, Las Vegas, NV 89154). Fans and families can take in the excitement including guest NBA all-star coaches, musical entertainment, and special guest appearances.

Hundreds of local untapped streetball talent across the country took their shot in open run tryouts throughout the nation. After being handpicked to represent their city by CEO of Ball Up Demetrius Spencer, NBA Veteran Gilbert Arenas along with guest NBA all-star coaches, including James Harden, Joakim Noah, and Metta World Peace among others, these local teams of 10 players took on the Ball Up All Star team in sold out large-scaled venues, providing family friendly, exciting entertainment for all. The best players from each city will be brought out to Las Vegas to participate in the final championship showdown to compete for a contract to join the Ball Up All-Stars, bringing electrifying competition to the entertainment capital of the world.

The 2014 Ball Up All-Stars roster includes: streetball legends The Professor, AO, Bone Collector, Sik Wit It, Violator, Baby Shaq, Air Up There, Special FX, Springs; rising stars G Smith, Mr. Afrika and Too Easy. NBA players, past and present that have participated in previous Ball Up events include: Nick Young, Derek Fisher, Julius “Dr. J.” Erving, Allen Iverson, Dennis Rodman, Tracy McGrady, Matt Barnes, George Hill, Rick Fox, DeMar Derozan, Rafer “Skip To My Lou” Alston and Eric Bledsoe to name a few.
