Battle for Vegas presented by Dollar Loan Center announces fundraising results of the charity softball game at Las Vegas Ballpark on July 24. At the conclusion of the event, $175,000 was donated to the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation with proceeds benefitting two local nonprofits – Grant a Gift Autism Foundation, Ackerman Center, and Miracle League of Las Vegas.  Proceeds from the 2021 game eclipsed fundraising results from the 2019 game by nearly 30 percent.  The inaugural 2019 Battle for Vegas game raised $136,000.

 

The game pits two teams of professional athletes battling it out for a good cause and bragging rights.  Team Reilly, captained by Reilly Smith of the Vegas Golden Knights, included several current and former VGK members.  Team Marcus, captained by Pro Football Hall of Famer and former Raider Marcus Allen, included several members of the Las Vegas Raiders. While Team Reilly won the Home Run Derby, Team Marcus won the softball game with a score of 25-16.

 

A one-hour TV special encapsulating highlights and key moments from the game will air on KTNV (ABC) on Saturday, Aug. 7 from 7 to 8 p.m.

 

The special will also air on cable AT&TSportsNet on Aug 9 at 6 p.m., Aug. 11 at 7 p.m., Aug. 14 at 9 p.m., Aug. 17 at 7 p.m., Aug. 18 at 7 p.m., Aug. 19 at 6 p.m., Aug. 21 at 6 p.m., Aug. 24 at 6 p.m., Aug. 25 at 7 p.m., Aug. 27 at 11 p.m., Aug. 28 at 1 a.m., Aug. 30 at 11 p.m., and Aug. 31 at 7 p.m.  Airings are also planned for YurView Las Vegas (Cox cable) and KDOC in Los Angeles.  Check websites for schedules.
