UNLV women’s swimming junior Blanka Bokros concluded her first trip to the 2023 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships hosted by Tennessee at Allan Jones Aquatic Center Saturday morning.

The Budapest, Hungary native, who ranked 26th among the 200 fly competitors, made a rise up the rankings to take 21st overall and second in heat No. 4 (1:55.62) in the 200 fly. Additionally, Bokros posted a heat win and 42nd-place finish in the 100 fly with a personal-best time of 52.93 seconds, which was an improvement of three-hundredths of a second from her previous mark.

Bokros wraps up a historical season in which she set a Mountain West and school record in the 200 fly (1:55.44) and moved into fourth all-time in program history in the 100 fly.

QUOTABLE: “This was a great first-time showing for Blanka. To get a personal best, and to move up in the rankings, at your first NCAAs takes a lot of poise and diligent preparation. Statistically, only 20 to 25 percent of swimmers do that. Blanka just needs to keep doing exactly what she has been, learn from this weekend and she’ll be on her way to finishing in a scoring position next season.” – UNLV Head Coach Ben Loorz

UP NEXT FOR THE REBELS: The UNLV men’s 200 free relay team will head to the 2023 NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships set to be held in Minneapolis from March 22-25.
