Upcoming David K – ‘Middle Aged Romance’ EP Release on Apollonia [June 30]
[SoundCloud] David K – ‘Middle Aged Romance’ EP

French trio Apollonia, comprised of Dan Ghenacia, Dyed Soundorom, and Shonky, are set to return to North America after kicking off the Ibiza season at Amnesia’s opening party. After relocating from Berlin to Ibiza for the summer season, they will be bringing their global underground sound from the magical white isle for a string of highly anticipated parties on this side of the pond.
The dance music collective will be ringing in Independence day on July 4th with NYC underground stalwarts Blk|Market Membership who are hosting a day party with Dixon and a night party with Apollonia for Brooklyn’s own sonic fireworks. Then off to Chicago to inaugurate the first Riverwest Music Festival with a bevy of underground heavy hitters including Art Department, Damian Lazarus, Deep Dish, Guy Gerber and Visionquest. After a series of dates in Ibiza and Europe, Apollonia will return for NYC’s end of summer bacchanal Electric Zoo to perform at the revered Sunday School Grove.
Back in Ibiza, Apollonia will be performing this summer at the much-lauded Richie Hawtin presents ENTER. on July 17th and September 18th at Space, while on August 16th they will be staging their annual all night long takeover at legendary club DC10.
Since their inception in 2011, the group’s policy of playing backtobacktoback sets; spinning one record apiece has succeeded in bringing an unparalleled groove back to the dancefloors at world class venues and events including Fabric, Panorama Bar, DC10 and The BPM Festival. The trio have successfully built a platform for their shared musical vision through their eponymous label and are currently finishing up their debut artist album for release later this year.
The latest release off of the Apollonia label comes from David K, the Parisian-turned-Berliner producer who has been a prominent artist within the underground house scene since the late 90s, having first joined forces with Dan Ghenacia of Apollonia when releasing his bestseller “Boul de Nerf” on Freak n’Chic. A fruitful career in production led to music on labels like Cocoon, Visionquest, Supplement Facts and Bpitch Control, while his new album Out of Range is just about to drop. His upcoming 2-track package, ‘Middle-Aged Romance’ on Apollonia, to be released on June 30, is characterised by its bell melody and hard-hitting bassline, an electric story moving between ethereal wonder and an intense workout (pre-order here). “Drop The Beat” perfectly demonstrates the classic Chicago house style David K and Apollonia first enjoyed together all those years ago, but adding a very modern, textured touch. Get ready to join the global house music zeitgeist with Apollonia this summer!

Indonesian Pop Icon Agnez Mo Heating Up Urban And Pop Radio in Las Vegas

AGNEZ MO aims to shake things up. Sure, the singer, songwriter, actress, and fashion designer is already a bona fide pop icon in her native Indonesia. She’s got multiple accolades in music and acting under her belt—including the MTV Indonesia Award for “Favorite Female Artist”, numerous multi-platinum hits, and a staggering fan base with over 10 million Twitter followers. However, she’s been dreaming of conquering America and the rest of the world since 19-years-old. In 2014, she formally arrives with one goal.

“I want to make people feel sexy,” she smiles. “My main focus is to make great music that can make everyone FEEL it, dance and sing to it. I hope they believe they can do anything when they hear my songs. It’s about transferring that energy-about letting go and just moving to it.”
Armed with a seductive voice, striking style, and magnetic charisma, she captured the attention of legendary producer Timbaland in 2012. For quite some time, it had been a dream of hers to work with him. However, the international impresario got a little tongue-tied during their very first encounter in his Miami studio.

“I swear I have never once been star struck, but when he came into the studio and said, ‘Hey, what’s up, Ag?’ I was like, ‘Do I call him Tim? What do I call him?’,” she laughs. “I totally froze. Once I could talk again, we recorded two songs, and he told me he wanted to executive produce my whole album. Even with everything I had done back home, that was really the start of my dream coming true.”

Now, her latest single “Coke Bottle” produced by Wizz Dumb for Timbaland Productions and featuring Timbaland and T.I. pops off with an intoxicating hook and stunning, simmering verses. Co-written by the artist, it’s a hot and hypnotic dance floor anthem incorporating hip-hop spunk and pop shine.

Beartooth performing at Vans Warped Tour Las Vegas June 19th – New Release “Disgusting” Available June 10th

Collaborative creativity can produce brilliant results, but there’s something almost otherworldly about what emerges from the minds of remarkably talented artists, the types who’ve lived many lifetimes in a short period, left to his/her own devices.

As much as Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, The Cure or Foo Fighters (particularly on that first album) are considered “bands,” they brazenly exhibit the precision focused passion of a specific person; often a person bursting at the seams with something to say. BEARTOOTH began and in many ways continues to be such an artist, bubbling forth from the psyche, soul and complex emotions buried in multitalented instrumentalist and songwriter, Caleb Shomo.

Beartooth shares equal inspiration with brutal metalcore as with old-school punk like The Ramones and the bombastic theatricality of Queen. The end result is a back-to-basics hardcore stomp that would get the crowd moving at a Hatebreed or Terror show, interspersed with a steadfast determination to give equal importance to anthemic choruses.
