Ross Coleman, recognized for his role in the Professional Bull Riding world, has retired and on Thursday, Oct. 27, he celebrated the milestone with an intimate dinner at 35 Steaks + Martinis at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.  Surrounded by close friends, family and management the group of 30 guests toasted congratulations to Coleman as they enjoyed signature dishes in the middle of the main dining room. They feasted on signature favorites including: artichoke dip, crab cake, mixed field greens salad, filet mignon, spicy tuna and organic chicken.  For dessert, they indulged in the vanilla crème brulee. Guests included: wife, Amy Coleman; parents Steve and Cathy Coleman; PBR Board Member and husband to artist, Jewel, Ty Murray; two-time world champion Bull Rider, Justin McBride; PBR Founder Aaron Semas and wife Tami; 13-time qualifying NFR Rider, Brit Bockius; and current PBR riders, Luke Snyder, Sean Willingham and Brendon Clark.

Southern born and raised, Rob Riggle has been entertaining crowds over the last 12 years with his sketch and improvisational comedy. Along with his title as Major in the United States Marine Corps Reserves, holding 20 medals and ribbons as a result of his service; Riggle is also known for his clever delivery as a correspondent on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.” Riggle has also appeared in several major television and film projects including “Saturday Night Live” and the motion picture hit “The Hangover.” Audiences can expect to hear Riggle’s hilarious and sharp delivery about current events and newsworthy beats.

Comedy-Magician Mac King joins the fight to make breast cancer disappear during Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a special fundraiser benefitting Susan G. Komen of Southern Nevada. Throughout the month of October, guests who make a $5 donation after the show will receive two limited edition pink “Mac King & Susan G. Komen – Magic For a Cure” wristbands. For those that purchase two merchandise products after the show King will donate the $5 on their behalf. All proceeds will benefit Susan G. Komen of Southern Nevada. The wristbands won’t be the only pink in Mac King’s show. For the entire month of October, King will “go pink” for a cause by ditching his traditional yellow “Cloak of Invisibility” for a pink one.

More than 20 Incredible Shows Join the Inaugural Season
at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts


Design Your Own Series Offers Variety Beyond Broadway Las Vegas

 

The Smith Center for the Performing Arts will launch its Design Your Own series on Sunday, September 25. The series will include more than 20 titles showcasing a mix of dance, music, and special attractions. The series gives patrons the opportunity to customize their theater experience and save up to 15% when purchasing multiple shows.

The inaugural Design Your Own series season includes titles from dance masters such as the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and tap dance extraordinaire Savion Glover, to comedian Lily Tomlin and humorist David Sedaris, to celebrated musicians including The Cleveland Orchestra and Yo-Yo Ma. The series allows patrons to mix-and-match precisely to their interests, instead of buying a pre-selected dance-only or music-only series. With such a wide variety of world-class entertainment, the possibilities to create the perfect customized series are endless. Titles in the series are slated for March-June 2012. Prices are as low as $24 per ticket, and by packaging three shows or more into a custom series, patrons will save even more.

“We plan to bring the community a wide variety of shows in order to provide cultural diversity for all,” says Myron Martin, president and CEO of The Smith Center. “The Design Your Own series has something for everyone and will allow people to customize a package that fits their interests, while allowing them to explore new acts they may not have otherwise sought out.”

Series tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2011, and will be available by calling The Smith Center’s ticketing office at (702) 982-7805 or by visiting thesmithcenter.com. By purchasing series tickets in September and October 2011, patrons will save based on the amount of shows purchased. Ticket prices begin at $24 per show (not including processing and handling fees). A minimum of three performances are required for savings in the Design Your Own series. Three shows will result in a 5% total discount, five shows in a 7% total discount and seven shows in a 15% discount. Series ticket prices are dependent upon seat location. Individual tickets are set to go on sale for titles in the series in November of 2011.

The Smith Center takes another important step forward on its path to opening with the addition of the Design Your Own series. The center continues to be on-time and on-budget, with an opening date scheduled for March 10, 2012.

 Golden Nugget Las Vegas headliner, Gordie Brown, will honor current and retired service members surrounding our National Day of Service and Remembrance with a special local ticket price, a portion of which will be donated to U.S.VETS – Las Vegas, an organization dedicated to pro­viding vet­er­ans with com­pre­hen­sive hous­ing and employ­ment ser­vices in the Las Vegas Valley.

An Evening At La Cage, the world-famous Las Vegas extravaganza, will bring its glitz and glamour to the Four Queens Hotel & Casino starting July 13. The show has been on hiatus from Vegas since it closed at the Riviera two years ago and is now refreshed and ready to take its place again as the premier show of its kind.

An Evening At La Cage features the most amazing female impersonators, celebrity look-alikes and tribute artists alive today in a top-notch performance of nonstop music, dance and comedy.

Produced by Starr Pro Productions, with a special licensing agreement with longtime producer Norbert Aleman, La Cage will star Jimmy Emerson, the internationally known comedian and impressionist who was the comedy lead and backup host for the show’s previous Las Vegas incarnation. He is famed for outrageous characters that bring the house down, including his wicked Wynonna Judd and the queen of country-western trailer-trash Tammy Spraynette.

Emerson has appeared in movies and TV and around the world in his own shows as an actor, singer and dancer in addition to being a comedian and impersonator in the international casts of An Evening at La Cage, including the highly acclaimed London production.

The stunning impersonations in the show run the gamut from Barbra Streisand to Lady Gaga, with a host of other exquisite stars, including Carrie Underwood, Madonna, Reba McEntire, Jennifer Lopez and Michael Jackson. Cast members are Brent Allen, Ryan Zink, Andrew Ryan, Carlos Rodriguez, Alondro Garibay and Lane Lassiter.

Save the ta-tasâ and the world-famous Laugh Factory (located at 8001 West Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles) have teamed up for one fabulous night of comedy called “Ha Has for ta-tas,” that will take place on Wednesday, June 15 at 8pm in Hollywood. Tickets are on sale now and 100% of proceeds will benefit The Save the Ta-tas Foundationâ that supports the fight against breast cancer by funding programs such as independent cancer research and a college scholarship program.

Included in the event will be a full comedy lineup featuring Kevin Farley, Chris D’Elia, Dov Davidoff, Tiffany Haddish, Steve Simeone and Jen Kirkman. ta-tas® Brand merchandise will be available for sale onsite as well as a silent auction/ raffle that consists of merchandise donated from some of Los Angeles’s most recognized businesses, restaurants, amusement parks, spas and gyms.

Straight from the heart of Las Vegas to the Sunset Strip the cast of FANTASY will hit the stage with an intermission performance. Featuring bombshell vocalist, Lorena Peril, comedian, Sean E.
