Celebrate National Margarita Day at the Libation’s Birthplace

Husongs Mandalay Place Jan 11 2009 Nevada USA BY DENISE TRUSCELLO

Hussong’s Cantina inside The Shoppes at Mandalay Place will offer a special Corona-Rita for one day only in honor of National Margarita Day on Saturday, February 22. Guests can celebrate the famous tequila libation at the home of the original margarita with a $15 Corona-Rita featuring Sauza Reposado tequila and a 7 oz. Coronita.

The margarita was invented in October 1941 by Hussong’s bartender Don Carlos Orozco. He concocted the perfect mixture of equal parts tequila, Damiana and lime, served over ice in a salt-rimmed glass, for a beautiful woman named Margarita Henkel who frequented the bar and who was the daughter of the German Ambassador to Mexico.

Hussong’s Cantina is located inside The Shoppes at Mandalay Place and is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week. For more information or to make reservations please call 702.632.6450 or visit www.hussongslasvegas.com.
