The cantina from Hooper Hospitality Concepts debuts in the heart of the Southwest boasting body-slamming, American-Mexican flavors and more than 80 Tequilas and Mezcals

El Luchador Mexican Kitchen + Cantina has entered the ring at Mountain’s Edge in the heart of Southwest Las Vegas bringing a fresh Mexican concept to the booming area. Conceived by hospitality veteran Andy Hooper of Hooper Hospitality Concepts, El Luchador Mexican Kitchen + Cantina is now open for dinner and happy hour serving American-Mexican cuisine and more than 80 Tequilas and Mezcals in a casual atmosphere where you can catch your favorite live sporting event, or even watch an endless supply of classic lucha libre matches and vintage American ringside antics.

Helmed by Executive Chef Aaron Bryan, the El Luchador Mexican Kitchen + Cantina menu features a twist on Mexican cuisine staples thanks to Chef Aaron’s SoCal roots and his eclectic experience ranging from high-end culinary institutions to cooking with heart and soul for his friends and family.

Start every meal off right with Tableside Guacamole served with house-made tortilla chips, or share the Queso Fundido Con Carne (melted Chihuahua and jack cheeses and chorizo, served with flour tortillas), Machu Picchu Ceviche (shrimp, mahi mahi, mango de gallo, avocado and lime, served with crisp tortillas), or El Luchador’s signature Elote En Plato (charred corn, pico de gallo, aioli, fresno chili, queso cotija and tajin).  Main courses include a selection of Burritos & Chimichangas, Taco plates, Enchiladas, Fajitas and Especialidades including the house special Pescado a la Plancha (crisp half dorade, Calabaza, chayote, tomato, honey chipotle sauce), soon to be crowd favorite, the Triple Threat Chimichanga (adobo beef, chicken or pork, pinto bean puree, cotija & jack cheese, salsa verde, cilantro creama and salsa de enchilada), or the Camaron Chicharron Tacos (crispy shrimp, mango de gallo, avocado, cilantro, soft corn tortilla). All entrees are served with Luchador rice and frijoles. Multiple menu items can be made vegetarian or vegan upon request.
 


Like the history of a champion luchador, El Luchador Mexican Kitchen + Cantina’s spirits menu is expansive, colorful and might knock you off the ropes. Boasting more than 80 Tequilas and Mezcals, even the pickiest Tequila drinker and Mezcal aficionado will be satisfied. Craft Cocktails run from the sweet Sin Cara (Patron Silver, strawberry, pineapple, lime) to the spicy and smoky Madre Caliente (Madre Mezcal, spicy mango, elderflower, lime).

A Happy Hour menu, including both food and drink specials, is available Monday through Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Service Industry Night is every Sunday and Monday beginning at 4:30 p.m., featuring $10 shots of Don Julio 1942, Clase Azul Reposado and Don Fulano Imperial.

El Luchador Mexican Kitchen + Cantina is located at 7825 Blue Diamond Rd. #101 in the heart of Mountain’s Edge in Southwest Las Vegas and is now open for dine-in beginning at 4:30 p.m. daily. Take-out and delivery will begin in mid-January. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 4:30 to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 4:30 to 10 p.m.
