Ferran Adrià, the World’s Most Award-Winning Chef, to Speak at Bazaar Meat

Ferran Adrià, the World’s most award-winning chef, and executive chef of elBulli, the #1 restaurant in the World during its time, is coming to Las Vegas this September for a first-time exclusive event.  Mr. Adrià will welcome chefs, hotel owners, food & beverage directors and restaurateurs to join him in an intimate gathering: Creativity in the Art of Food, Chef Ferran Adrià at Bazaar Meat by José Andrés in SLS Las Vegas on September 11th.  The event, hosted by Estrella Damm, The Beer of Barcelona will begin with a presentation by Ferran Adrià, sharing his experiences at the renowned elBulli restaurant he oversaw in Spain, as well as discussing his vision on tapas, and elBulli’s future.  Joining the evening is Mr. Adrià’s longtime friend, the culinary director of SLS Hotels and chef/owner of Bazaar Meat, José Andrés, who welcomes guests with signature tapas, , bringing a bit of Barcelona to Las Vegas.

Estrella Damm beer is the market leader in Barcelona, home to Ferran Adrià.  Chef Adrià has been collaborating with the brewery since 2008, particularly in the creation of Inedit, a malt and wheat beer brewed with spices, specifically crafted to pair with food.  Chef Adrià expanded his role in 2013 as the gastronomic ambassador for the brewery’s flagship brand, Estrella Damm.

“Las Vegas is a culinary mecca when it comes to food.  It only made sense to host this special event amongst those that continue to pave the way for the Las Vegas Food & Beverage industry” said van Neerrijnen.

Ferran Adrià was the co-owner and chef of elBulli from 1984 until its closure as a restaurant in 2011.  Chef Adrià has a long history of recognition, including being listed on TIME Magazine’s “World’s Top 100 Influential People” and Restaurant Magazine’s 2010 “Chef of the Decade”.

elBulli itself was awarded “World’s Best Restaurant” five times by Restaurant Magazine between 2004 and 2010.  The elBulli team created 1,846 dishes during their tenure, which has inspired chefs from all over the world to go beyond the norm and push boundaries in the kitchen.

The restaurant, once receiving 2 million reservation requests each summer it was open, closed in 2011 in order to become a center for research and innovation.  The center will reopen in the future as elBullifoundation, dubbed “Bullipedia” by Ferran Adrià, to young, aspiring, culinary professionals.

Creativity in the Art of Food, Chef Ferran Adrià is taking place at 6pm on September 11th at Bazaar Meat by José Andrés at SLS Las Vegas, by invitation only.  Estrella Damm is imported into the US by United States Beverage and distributed in Las Vegas by Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada.
