Smokin’ Hot Mesquite Days and Eureka Miniature Golf Tournament Make Mesquite the Ultimate Weekend Getaway
Mesquite is the ultimate destination the weekend of May 6-8. With three exciting events, the city will be a hub of activity and excitement for all visitors with a delicious BBQ competition, carnival, parade, vendor booths, miniature golf tournament and more.
Smokin’ Hot Mesquite Days
Smokin’ Hot Mesquite Days will combine the mouth-watering BBQ from Smokin’ in Mesquite and the various entertainment, excitement and fun from Mesquite Days into one large event. The first Smokin’ Hot Mesqutie Days will feature award-winning BBQ teams from California, Arizona, Nex Mexico, Texas and various other states in a championship sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecuqe Society. More than 40 of the biggest names in BBQ will fire up their grills to prepare an irresistible variety of ribs, chicken, pork and beef brisket on Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7 at the CasaBlanca Resort. In addition to the delicious tastings, there will be a carnival, zumba-thon, parade, City of Mesquite Mayor’s Panckae Breakfast, various vendors, live music, entertainment and more starting as early as Wednesday, May 4 and lasting through the weekend. Eureka Miniature Golf Tournament
Eureka Casino Resort is hosting a miniature golf tourament as part of the weekend festivities. The tournament will be held on Saturday, May 7 at 4 p.m. The 18-hole tournament is open to the public, with the chance to win a variety of cash and prizes. There will be two rounds, with a portion of entry fees for the first round being donated to the players’ chosen alumni association. The second round will be open to those not part of an alumni association. In additiion to the tournament winnings, creative golfers can win prizes for the ugliest pants, craziest socks, most school pride, best dressed and more.
