“LUCKY” LAS VEGAS COUPLE BECOMES THE FIRST TO MARRY AT MIDNIGHT ON 8/1/18 ON THE HIGH ROLLER OBSERVATION WHEEL

At the stroke of midnight, Las Vegas couple Justin Brittingham and Heather Bagley said, “I do,” becoming the first couple to be married on the palindromic date of 8/1/18. The couple married 550 feet in the air, atop the High Roller, the world’s tallest observation wheel at The LINQ Promenade.

Aug. 1, 2018 marks the first of several “magic wedding dates,” which include the palindromic dates of 8/1/18 and 8/18/18, as well as the equally auspicious date of 8/8/18. Long considered to be a lucky number (in Chinese, eight is “ba,” which is similar to “fa,” meaning fortune), the number eight can also represent infinity, prosperity, balance and harmony.

Earlier this summer, Caesars Entertainment conducted a Facebook contest, encouraging couples to explain why they are lucky in love. More than 25 couples from around the country entered the contest. The winning couple receives the complimentary wedding inside the High Roller cabin. Destination Las Vegas provided the officiant, flowers and décor for the High Roller cabin, as well as a wedding gown, hair and make-up for the bride.

ABOUT THE LINQ PROMENADE AND HIGH ROLLER
The LINQ Promenade is an open-air shopping, dining and entertainment district anchored by the High Roller, the world’s tallest observation wheel. The High Roller consistently ranks as one of the best, “must see” and most photographed attractions by media outlets around the world. Each of the wheel’s 28 glass-enclosed cabins can accommodate up to 40 guests and features an interactive journey incorporating video, music and spectacular views of the famed resort city during the 30-minute revolution. Unique in-cabin experiences include Happy Half Hour (featuring an open bar inside select cabins for guests 21 and over during the 30-minute ride); North America’s first in-cabin Chocolate Tasting with Ethel M Chocolates and Yoga in the Sky (a 60-minute session that can accommodate up to six guests). Cabins are also available for private events and groups.

The LINQ Promenade is home to more than 30 unique restaurants, bars, retail stores and attractions; with numerous high-profile openings on the horizon, guests will have a different experience with every visit. Expected to launch by the end of 2018, Fly LINQ will become the first and only zipline on the Las Vegas Strip and will feature 10 side-by-side zip lines capable of simultaneously launching riders. In 2019, Kind Heaven will debut as the world’s first entertainment venture where visitors will embark upon an exotic journey through 100,000 square feet of music, food, fashion, music, mystery and technology.
