Goodwill Announces Grand Opening of New Store and Drive-
Thru Donation Center on Rainbow just south of Warm Springs
Grand Opening is Friday, February 28 at 9 a.m., Ribbon Cutting at 8:45 a.m.

Goodwill of Southern Nevada announces the grand opening of its newest retail store and drive-thru donation center at 7420 S. Rainbow Blvd. & W. Mardon Ave. (just south of W. Warm Springs Road) at 9 a.m. The new store marks the thirteenth Goodwill retail store in Southern Nevada.

The opening of this new location marks only the second time in Goodwill’s almost 40-year history serving Southern Nevada that the nonprofit has built a new store and donation center from the ground up. It will be the first major thrift store to open in Las Vegas’ Southwest.

The 16,000 square foot facility will feature a 12,000 square foot sales floor, donation sorting space and a convenient drive-thru donation center.

Opening the new Goodwill store created 40 new jobs in Southern Nevada.

“Our new Rainbow-Mardon store is truly groundbreaking in every sense of the word,” said Steve Chartrand, Goodwill of Southern Nevada President & CEO. “Typically we lease existing retail space. To be able to design and build this store to specifically suit our needs is an incredible accomplishment.”

For the past few years, Goodwill of Southern Nevada has steadily relocated existing retail stores into newer, larger locations as well as opened brand new stores. The growth of Goodwill’s retail program is vital as sales in each store helps fund Goodwill’s job placement and training programs that assist people in Southern Nevada gain employment no matter circumstance or disability. In addition, each time a new store opens or expands new jobs are created in our community.

In 2013, Goodwill of Southern Nevada’s Career Connections program helped more than 2,000 people find jobs at a variety of local businesses.
