The Center Initiates National Search for CEO
Position Brief
The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada, Inc. (The Center) is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who will work with the Board and staff to fulfill The Center’s ongoing strategy and mission of supporting and promoting activities directed at furthering the well-being, positive image and human rights of the LGBTQ community, its allies and low to moderate income residents in Nevada. After celebrating the grand opening of a new, state-of-the-art, multi-million dollar facility on April 6, 2013, and now gearing up for The Center’s 20th anniversary on October 15, the CEO will be charged with leading this important community organization during a time of great change and progress.
The successful candidate will accomplish all of, but not limited to, the following:
- Report to the Board and manage all internal and external facets of The Center
- Translate and execute a clear vision for innovation, creativity, adaptability and collaboration with a relentless commitment to impact
- Demonstrate a record of setting operational priorities and leading organizations to success
- Lead fundraising, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of top donors, prospects, allies and grassroots entities, ensuring The Center routinely meets or exceeds philanthropic revenue targets and these individuals and organizations realize the full potential of The Center’s work
- Manage development of an overall strategy which improves outcomes and allows for the monitoring and evaluation of quality programs
- Create and sustain an entrepreneurial work environment and positive culture of high impact, ensuring all staff enthusiastically pursue excellence
- Stay abreast, if not ahead, of movement, trends and issues and incorporate the latest thinking into a process of continuous learning with colleagues
- Provide intellectual leadership and foster a humble, mindful and bold environment
- Communicate to wide audiences of stakeholders and inspire and motivate donors and constituencies to achieve The Center’s ambitious mission
- Ensure all activities and programs meet the highest standards of ethics and transparency and are aligned with The Center’s values
