La Comida to Ring in 2019 with Food and Drink Specials
on New Year’s Eve
Tres…dos…uno! Morton Group’s vibrant Mexican eatery, La Comida, located in Downtown Las Vegas, will host a New Year’s Eve fiesta featuring food and drink specials on Monday, Dec. 31.
Executive Chef Mario Garcia will prepare a surf and turf dish, including a 5-ounce skirt steak, served with sautéed grilled onions and wild mushrooms, topped with crema de hongos sauce, accompanied by four Gulf shrimp, marinated in a zesty Guajillo cream with butternut squash puree. The surf and turf dinner is priced at $28.
Drink specials will include shots of El Toro tequila, priced at $5; and raspberry margarita pitchers, priced at $25. Reservations for New Year’s Eve may be arranged now by calling the restaurant at 702-463-9900.

La Comida is a stylish addition to the burgeoning Downtown Las Vegas dining scene, featuring a menu inspired by the cosmopolitan fare of Mexico City. The latest creation by the Morton Group, led by restaurateurs Jenna and Michael Morton, La Comida blends authenticity and tradition with a delightfully funky vibe. The facade of the restaurant faces Sixth Street with an old-school overhanging ‘La Comida’ sign stretching across the sidewalk beneath a 7-foot sculptured metal monkey clinging to the rooftop corner, whose bones flash in pink neon. The main room is accented with wood floors, reclaimed tiles from Mexico, authentic church pews and stained glass from old church windows.
La Comida is located at 100 Sixth St. and is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; noon to midnight Friday – Saturday; and noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
