The Las Vegas 51s professional baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, will open an eight-game homestand on Thursday, May 11 against the Omaha Storm Chasers, Triple-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, at Cashman Field at 7:05 p.m. The four-game series will conclude on Sunday, May 14 (Mother’s Day at 12:05 p.m.). The 51s will then continue the homestand with a four-game series against the Iowa Cubs, Triple-A affiliate of the 2016 World Series champion Chicago Cubs, from Monday-Thursday, May 15-18, all games at 7:05 p.m. Las Vegas will begin a stretch of 16 straight games against the American Conference from May 11-26.

The 51s, under first-year manager Pedro Lopez, are currently on a brief four-game road trip at Albuquerque, N.M. against the Isotopes, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, that will conclude on Tuesday. The next scheduled off day for the PCL is Wednesday, May 10.

2017 CASHMAN FIELD ATTENDANCE: In 16 dates, Las Vegas’ total is 100,847 for an average of 6,303. Las Vegas has recorded three sellouts: 9,872 for Star Wars Night/Fireworks on April 28 vs. Albuquerque; season-high crowd of 10,342 for the Smokers Strike Out 14th Annual School Day Game on May 3 vs. Tacoma; 9,559 for the Fireworks/Nevada Donor Network Donate Life Night on May 5 vs. Tacoma. The Las Vegas franchise has reached the 300,000 plateau in “home” attendance in all 34 seasons (1983-2016). The all-time attendance total now stands at 11,410,575. The 51s organization have the proud distinction of being the longest enduring franchise in the history of professional sports in the state of Nevada.

Budweiser Dollar Beer Night will be presented twice during the homestand on Thursday, May 11 vs. Omaha and in the finale of the eight-game homestand vs. the Cubs on Thursday, May 18 at 7:05 p.m. Dollar Beer Night will be featured at every Thursday home game during the 2017 season. Proper identification and wristbands are required for dollar beer night.

A spectacular post-game “Fireworks Show,” presented by Albertsons, will be featured on Friday, May 12 in game two of the series against the Storm Chasers at 7:05 p.m.

51s Batting Practice Top Night, to the first 2,500 fans through the gates (open at 6 p.m.), will be featured on Saturday, May 13 at 7:05 p.m.

Little League Day #2 will be featured in the matinee contest and the finale of the four-game series vs. Omaha on Sunday, May 14. Selected 51s players will be available to sign pre-game autographs for the Little League teams in attendance. In addition, all children will have the opportunity to “Run the Bases” after the contest (with proper shoe attire).

The opener of the four-game series vs. the Iowa Cubs will feature “Smith’s Value Menu Monday” on May 15.

Monday “home” games will feature a “Value Menu” for the ninth straight season! The 51s and Centerplate have teamed together for discounted food items on Hot Dogs, Popcorn, Peanuts, Cracker Jack and Pretzels for just $1.00 per item.

WestStar Credit Union “Winning Wednesday” will be featured FIVE more times during the 2017 season. The remaining dates are May 17 vs. Iowa Cubs, June 14 vs. Sacramento; July 5 vs. El Paso; July 19 vs. Fresno; August 9 vs. Reno.

If the 51s WIN, fans can redeem their tickets for a future Sunday through Tuesday “home” game (excluding Tuesday, July 4). In addition, each “WestStar Winning Wednesday,” one lucky fan will also be randomly selected to be the WestStar Winner of the Game! The winning fan will receive an autographed baseball from a 51s player, a seat upgrade for their group, and the opportunity to become the guest PA announcer for a half-inning that night!

Omaha’s roster features four of the top 10 prospects in the Royals organization, according to Baseball America: Top prospect: right-handed pitcher Josh Staumont; left-handed pitcher Eric Skoglund (No. 4); first baseman Ryan O’Hearn (No. 8) and right-hander pitcher Kyle Zimmer (No. 10). In addition, infielder Garin Cecchini is a member of the Storm Chasers roster, and is the brother of Las Vegas’ Gavin Cecchini.

Iowa’s roster features three of the top 10 prospects in the Cubs organization, according to Baseball America: second baseman Ian Happ (No. 2); outfielder Mark Zagunis (No. 6) and third baseman Jeimer Candelario (No. 7).

The 51s will broadcast all games on Lotus Broadcasting on NBC Sports Radio AM 920 ‘THE GAME’, which will carry live all 142 regular season games. Also, all games will be available on the 51s website (Major League Baseball Advanced Media, MLBAM) at www.LV51.com. Russ Langer, the 10-time Nevada Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA), is in his 18th season behind the microphone calling 51s baseball.

Following the homestand, Las Vegas will embark on an eight-game road trip beginning on Friday, May 19 in New Orleans, Louisiana, against the Baby Cakes, Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins. The four-game series will conclude on Monday, May 22. The 51s will then continue the trip and travel to the Lone Star State and face the Round Rock Express, Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, in a four-game series from Tuesday-Friday, May 23-26.
