Miracle Mile Shops Collects Back To School Supplies & Fountain Donations For Communities In Schools of Nevada Aug. 1-31
This August, Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino will host a school supply drive for Communities In Schools of Nevada (CISN), as well as collect donations in its fountain for the nonprofit as part of the retail center’s Caring, Giving, Changing community campaign.
Miracle Mile Shops will support CISN’s back to school supply drive throughout August by serving as a collection location. Those looking to make a donation are encouraged to drop off supplies, ranging from backpacks to crayons to glue sticks, at the Miracle Mile Shops customer service desk operated by Tickets & Tours during normal operating hours. As a thank you, Miracle Mile Shops will provide all donors with a Shop.Dine.Save coupon book featuring $2,000 in savings.
Additionally, change tossed in Miracle Mile Shops’ fountain as well as the center’s indoor rainstorm will be donated to CISN, in support of the nonprofits mission of empowering students to stay in school so they can achieve in life.
CISN is the local affiliate of the nation’s leading dropout prevention organization and Nevada’s most effective intervention organization. The nonprofit’s unique model places a coordinator inside schools to assess needs and deliver necessary resources that remove barriers to success. CISN serves the most dropout prone school districts in Southern and Northeastern Nevada, supporting nearly 25,000 students over 40 sites.
Miracle Mile Shops’ partnership with Communities In Schools of Nevada is part of the center’s Caring, Giving, Changing campaign, celebrating a year of change in 2013. In addition to monthly fountain fundraisers, the Caring, Giving, Changing campaign also raises funds for other programs and organizations through community sponsorships, additional partnerships and a number of cash and in-kind donations. In previous months, Miracle Mile Shops teamed up with The Shade Tree (January), Goodie Two Shoes Foundation (February), March of Dimes (March), Easter Seals Nevada (April), Dress For Success Southern Nevada (May), WestCare Nevada (June) and USO Las Vegas (July). Other organizations receiving fountain fundraisers as part of the community outreach campaign include: Nevada PEP (September), United Way of Southern Nevada’s Women’s Leadership Council (October), the Nevada Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (November) and Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada (December).
