Dave Murray of Las Vegas took home the title and a prize package valued at over $5,000




Blue Man Group has named Dave Murray of Las Vegas the winner of the second annual Blue Man Group Las Vegas Drum-Off. The final round of the competition took place at Downtown Container Park on Saturday, Nov. 11.


During the final round, five finalists performed a live, three-minute drum session in front of a panel of judges made up of Blue Man Band members and special guest judge, Kurt Rasmussen, professional percussionist currently performing in “O” by Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas. Murray was ultimately chosen based on his creativity, technical ability, unique style and killer drumming skills.


Audience members at Downtown Container park helped cheer on each finalist throughout the competition. Blue Man Group also made an appearance at the finals with a special performance of Stamping Ground, a never-before-seen piece in Las Vegas.


As the winner of Blue Man Group Las Vegas Drum-Off, Murray received a prize package valued at over $5,000 including prizes from DW Drums, Vic Firth, Sabian, VOX, KORG and Blue Man Group. The Blue Man Group Las Vegas Drum-Off is just the latest in a series of Blue Man Group Drum-Offs throughout the country.

Downtown Container Park is a 1.1 acre, open-air shopping center and entertainment venue featuring 39 shops, restaurants, and bars, located in downtown Las Vegas at the intersection of 7th and Fremont Streets. The innovative center, which was built from 43 repurposed shipping containers and 41 locally manufactured Xtreme cubes, is located at 707 Fremont Street. Container Park’s shops range from boutiques offering a variety of apparel, jewelry and accessories to art galleries, home décor and fixtures.
