Rebels put a seven-game winning streak on the line Friday versus BYU

UNLV faces its toughest challenge of the young season as it visits St. George, Utah, for the Utah Tech Trailblazers Tournament this weekend.

Winners of seven straight games, UNLV (10-5) meets BYU (8-5), Oregon State, Utah Valley, Portland State and host Utah Tech, respectively, starting Friday, March 3.

Jasmine Martin, this week’s Mountain West Pitcher of the Week, and Jessie Fontes, last week’s pitcher of the week, lead the Rebels’ defense in the circle.

Sofia Morales batted .600 in last weekend’s Jim Frost Classic to lead the Rebels at the plate. Lauryn Barker scored three runs and hit two RBIs, April Visser batted in four runs and Janyssa Martin and Ariana Martinez each homered as UNLV went 4-0 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
