REBELS TO HOST ANNUAL UNLV INVITATIONAL THIS WEEKEND
UNLV will compete against Cal Baptist, UCLA, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Lewis & Clark, Cal Poly and Fresno Pacific

The UNLV’s men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will host their annual UNLV Invitational this weekend from Saturday-Monday, Dec. 17-19, at Jim Reitz Pool.
The invite starts each day with swimming prelims at 9:30 a.m. PT, which will be followed by swimming finals at 5 p.m. PT. For the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions, prelims will begin at 1 p.m. PT and finals are set for 8 p.m. PT during the Saturday and Sunday portions of the meet. Additionally, the Rebel divers will jumpstart their weekend Friday in the platform event at California Baptist’s Lancer Invite.
Among a 10-team pool, the Rebels will be competing against UCLA, CBU, Cal Poly, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, Lewis & Clark, Cal Poly and Fresno Pacific.

LAST TIME OUT: At the prestigious Minnesota Invite two weeks ago, the Scarlet & Gray ended the event with six different swimmers earning ‘B’ cuts across seven events. In a meet that featured several nationally ranked squads, including the No. 1 Texas men’s and women’s programs, UNLV posted 34 top-32 finishes across all event finals at the four-day meet.
REBEL WOMEN LEADERS: Leading the Rebel women with multiple team-best times this season are juniors Blanka Bokros in the 100 fly (54.47) and 200 fly (1:57.47), Calysta Bartlett in the 100 breast (1:01.45), 200 breast (2:15.37) and 200 IM (2:02.11) as well as Malia Fernandez in the 50 free (23.52) and 100 free (51.41).
REBEL MEN LEADERS: The UNLV men’s team is headlined by five current season-best marks from senior Panos Bolanos in the 100 back (46.83), 200 back (1:42.72), 100 free (43.34), 200 free (1:35.52) and 500 free (4:23.20). Joining Bolanos atop the Rebel men’s leaderboard in more than one event is sophomore Adnan Beji in the 100 breast (53.04) and 200 breast (1:56.41).
