The UNLV men’s basketball team will play away from home for the second straight time as it travels to Logan, Utah, to face Utah State on Wednesday, February 5 at 8 p.m. MT/7 p.m. PT at Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

The Runnin’ Rebels, who are alone in fourth place in the Mountain West, have lost three straight games after having won seven of eight. The Aggies, who are in a tie for fifth place in the league, had won three consecutive contests and four of five before losing at No. 4 San Diego State (80-68) on Saturday.

Sophomore guard Bryce Hamilton and junior guard Amauri Hardy lead the Runnin’ Rebels (11-12, 6-4) in scoring, averaging 14.8 and 14.1 points per game, respectively. Hamilton has scored in double figures in 10 straight games and has tallied 26 or more in each of his last four outings. Junior forward Mbacke Diong is the team’s leading rebounder with 8.7 per contest (4th in MW). UNLV is under new leadership this year in head coach T.J. Otzelberger.

Utah State (17-7, 6-5) is in its second season under its head coach, Craig Smith. The Aggies are led in scoring by Sam Merrill’s 17.8 ppg (3rd in MW) and in rebounding by Justin Bean (10.1 rpg, 2nd in MW).

UNLV won the season’s first meeting, 70-53, at the Thomas & Mack Center on Jan. 1

Wednesday’s game will be televised by CBS Sports Network with Carter Blackburn and Pete Gillen calling the action.
