RUNNIN’ REBELS HOST NEVADA, RENO, TUESDAY
First men’s basketball game as part of
Governor’s Series, presented by NV Energy, will tip at 7 p.m.
The UNLV men’s basketball team, which has won three out of its last four games and 14 of its last 17, will host intrastate rival Nevada, Reno, on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 7 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center. It will mark the first game between the two schools in men’s basketball both as members of the Mountain West and will also be the first men’s basketball matchup as part of the Governor’s Series, presented by NV Energy, that was established on Oct. 8, 2012.
Tuesday’s game will be televised by CBS Sports Network with Ted Robinson, Steve Lappas and Gary Parrish (sidelines) calling the action, while Jon Sandler and Robert Smith will handle the UNLV radio call, which may be heard live in Las Vegas on ESPN Radio 1100 AM/98.9 FM and online at UNLVRebels.com through the subscription-based All-Access feature.
The Runnin’ Rebels are coming off a 62-50 home win over Wyoming on Thursday in their only game of last week. UNLV is 12-1 in home games, including 11-1 at the Thomas & Mack Center this season (with nine straight wins). In addition, the Runnin’ Rebels have won 29 of their last 30 regular-season games at the TMC and have won 11 straight regular-season home games against Mountain West foes.
UNLV leads the all-time series with Nevada, Reno, 54-19 and has won each of the last six meetings against the Wolf Pack.
