Four Runnin’ Rebels scored in double figures as UNLV (5-8) defeated RMU, 81-69, on Dec. 21, including career highs from sophomore guard Marvin Coleman (16) and senior forward Vitaliy Shibel (13). It marked just the second game at the Thomas & Mack Center for the Runnin’ Rebels in a 25-day span as they were out of the building because of the National Finals Rodeo for three weeks.
Junior guard Amauri Hardy leads three UNLV players averaging in double-figure scoring with 15.9 points per game (7th in MW), while junior forward Mbacke Diong is the team’s leading rebounder with 9.4 per contest (5th in MW, 42nd in nation). UNLV is under new leadership this year in head coach T.J. Otzelberger.
